A luggage rack + totes worked well for us with a minivan. We got some weather-proof totes and some straps and put all our clothes into those. It will create a lot more room for gear in the back of the van.


You have to remove the totes when you open the back hatch, but for the most part that's okay because you're only going back there to load in and out for the gig. When we stopped for meals left the vehicle for some reason, we just put the totes in the van and went about on our way.

It will also come with a hitch if you want a tongue-mounted luggage carrier like the linked one. A bit tacky but frees up your trunk for stuff you use on the road easily accessible while the destination luggage is tied down. The good thing with the 3 is you won't need to install one aftermarket.

Again not choice #1 but it's available and really expands cargo area.
