Very similar model. If you look at the bottom, there are sponsored products similar, and you can find ones just like that from MSI and others.

I would recommend using this as a base if you do like it, and keep looking around to stuff similar. Amazon has the dealz

I personally use the this laptop:

Which is a 1070 laptop and I love it! (I've had it almost 2 years now)

Sure happy to help you out.I would definitely recommend the ASUS FX502VM-AS73 15.6-inch Full HD Gaming Laptop, with Windows 10 15.6,There are two main hardware aspects of this laptop which you will definitely be pleased of an exigent gamer. Its CPU, from the 7th generation of intel chips and its GPU from the GeForce 10 series of video cards. The i7-7700HQ processor gives excellent results while gaming or working with complex software using this laptop. Now, the GPU. The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 is one of the fastest currently available for laptops. It guarantees high FPS on your favorite games, using the latest technologies created by the brand. It has 16 GB RAM DDR4. I consider this the ideal amount for gamers, as well as for users willing to use demanding software, like CGI software, compilers, and multi-tasking in general.Storage capacity is also a great thing about this laptop. It comes with a 128 GB solid state drive, and also a 1 TB hard drive disk running at 7200 rpm. It weighs 4.9lbs comfortable to carry around.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
or The Eluktronics P650HP6 Premium VR Ready Gaming Laptop.Very powerful Intel Core i7-7700HQ Quad Core peocessor great for cad work etc with Windows 10 Home 6GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 great for all the lastest games. A sweet 15.6inch Full HD IPS 512GB Performance SSD 16GB DDR4 RAM just perfect for you at a good price. Great reviews on this beauty, I personally love it check out this review https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R39YM8PXEYOG49/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B01MT7P0QJ

I have this

https://www.amazon.com/FX502VM-AS73-15-6-inch-Gaming-7th-Gen-Windows/dp/B01N9QKYZ9/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1504396330&sr=8-2&keywords=fx502vm

And left my desktop home. The screen is pretty shitty, but I usually hook it up to an external monitor anyway, and if you get it from Computer Upgrade King you can get the screen upgraded for like $60

I had the specs of 256gb ssd + new screen

Been playing Gears of War 4 on it on max settings at 1080p for some time now since I bought it (end of june). Pretty good, the GTX 1060 is a beast, only about 5% difference from the desktop version, no joke.

Only downside is that, it can only go for 24gb of ram, that's a bit of an issue since I work with Maya 3D, Unreal Engine 4 and Photoshop, but if you're just gaming it should be fine.

Also 4.9lbs, very light weight. 5 something with the charger. I carry it + my surface pro 3 all around campus, no issues.

Also no cringy "Republic of Gamers" label

u/Michiganders · 2 pointsr/SuggestALaptop

Maybe look into options such as the Lenovo Y510 for $1140. It's not quite as bulky as other options on the market while still maintaining a pretty good build quality and good specs. It comes with a quad core i7-7700HQ processor, 16gb of ram, 2TB HDD + 256gb SSD and a GTX 1050Ti. The 1050Ti would be powerful enough to play pretty much any game on the market, and only the most demanding games will have to be played at reduced settings. It also has a 1080p IPS display, and an okay battery.

Maybe also look into more powerful options like the ASUS F502 for $1200, or the eluktronics P760 for $1300 if you want a 17.3''.

u/SpecialityToS · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

If you still want a laptop, I can't really recommend too much other than getting a 1060 or 1070 with it.

well if you don't want to go with 4K you can get this one by asus https://www.amazon.com/FX502VM-AS73-15-6-inch-Gaming-7th-Gen-Windows/dp/B01N9QKYZ9
and one more thing 4GB GTX 960 performs better than 2GB GTX 1050.... but if it was 4GB GTX 1050 than there must be another issue

u/uberpwnage64 · 2 pointsr/laptops

Here's one

Albeit you gotta have Prime, but even without, it's not too much more.

u/LonerIM2 · 2 pointsr/SuggestALaptop

Slightly bigger than what you are looking for but I would recommend this asus because it comes with everything you need , i7 quad core CPU which is one of the best in the market and great for your usage, 16GB of ram for smooth multitasking, Good SSD storage of 128 GB for faster boot up and loading, 1 TB of HDD for storage, 15.6 inch Full HD screen which is a must have for this price range, slighlty under 5 lbs, and it is within your budget.

u/Computerrevs · 2 pointsr/SuggestALaptop

This infographic could help you start with your research to see what is available in different price ranges. You could look to see if some of the more expensive laptops on this list are on sale this weekend for the sales for Black Friday/Cyber Monday if you would like to take advantage of those sale prices. In terms of suggestions:

Acer Helios 300 is a solid choice but does look a lot like a gaming laptop if you have issues with that for college. It is not on sale for the weekend so you would be able to take your time on that one.

Razer Blade stealth looks great and is a great laptop but may not be great for gaming (due to the lack of a nice GPU) unless you plan on buying something like the Razer Blade Core to add an external GPU later. But obviously that will add a lot to the price and not make it too price efficient.

I personally have the ASUS Fx502vm and love it. It is very powerful and looks a little more professional (than other "Gaming laptops"). It is currently on sale for $1000 so you would probably have to buy it quickly to take advantage of the Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals but I got it for 1250 and still think it was a great buy.

My brother recently bought the Lenovo Y720 and loves it and it is on sale from $1300 to $1050 for Black Friday weekend.

Overall there are a lot of good deals online this weekend you could take advantage of this weekend or you could take your time and do research and find the best laptop that fits you. $1000 to $1200 is a great price range because you can start to get some powerful laptops for a good price. I think you should try to buy a laptop with a NVIDIA GPU if you are paying that much for a GPU but if a graphics card isn't a high priority, the Razer Blade Stealth is a good option especially for below $1000.

u/Ornery_Celt · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

I have a friend that just bought this Asus FX502VM-AS73 and is loving it.

There were other similar ones, so we weighed going with a smaller graphics card or other CPUs, but went with this one because it had a 256GB solid state C drive along with a 1TB platter data drive. He also didn't care about being VR ready or anything like that, and while a larger screen would have been nice, the extra cost wasn't worth it to him.

u/IgnoringHisAge · 1 pointr/skyrimrequiem

Short answer: Yes.

Long answer: Very yes. That model would be challenged by, say, Mass Effect Andromeda. But Skyrim is 6 years old. That laptop beats the hell out of a 6 year-old ~$2000 desktop.

I have an almost 6 year old Asus G74sx (big 17.3 bastard, too) and I can't run ENBs, but other than that it can tackle moderately modded Skyrim without getting much more than warm.

Edit: I knew there was a model I was forgetting. Check the FX502. It's 15", but competes in the configuration linked. It has the 3gb gtx1060.

Wow sounds like an amazing pc. I was looking around and I saw these 3 pc's. PC 1 PC 2 & PC 3 . They are similar prices with very similar specs. I was wondering if you knew which was the superior.

u/fashionablyabsent · 1 pointr/Laptop

I've noticed a lot of 1 reviews saying similar issues about the screen. Tbh I have some bad trauma dealing with HP support screwing up a laptop screen repeatedly so I really don't want to go through that again because $100 says if I have to send the laptop back, they'll send the same one unchanged with "cannot reproduce the problem" or send me another defective one.

The reviews on the ASUS machine https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N9QKYZ9/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=thpcgaha-20&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=B01N9QKYZ9&linkId=55c045bb8445f6c70f90ee0b15455c6f

have a higher 5
and 4 concentration than the Acer, but not by much. The 1, 2, and 3 reviews for it seem to indicate the fans are in an awkward position, low battery life, and graphical errors.

Hard to know how likely I am to get these sorts of problems when I receive my machine. I'm not looking for a project... I'd just like a computer that games and works. Think maybe I should reopen my search? xD Or roll the dice with one of these? How realistic are my standards? I was really hoping in 2017 laptop tech would be less slapdash by now so I could avoid all the voodoo magic involved in circumventing random unexplainable issues.

u/bor4etyy · 1 pointr/laptops

Yeah, but if you can find a local retailer for the Asus or Acer they surely are better or check out this one asus fx 502

Asus has some understated models like this one.

ASUS FX502VM-AS73 15.6-inch Full HD Gaming Laptop, 7th-Gen Core i7, GTX 1060 3GB 16GB DDR4 RAM, 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD with Windows 10 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N9QKYZ9/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_MSqXzbMB4TNNV

[This] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N9QKYZ9/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_p6PRDbGFN85KY) is what I have. Bought it two years ago and have no issues running anything really, especially paradox games.

Consider Asus? I recently bought the i5 version of this on sale for $950. It runs great!

u/SuicideLarry · 1 pointr/SuggestALaptop

Are there any better alternatives to this laptop? In the same price range ($1000-1300)

ASUS FX502VM-AS73 15.6-inch Full HD Gaming Laptop, 7th-Gen Core i7, GTX 1060 3GB 16GB DDR4 RAM, 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD with Windows 10 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N9QKYZ9/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_FtEozb3HJPBNF

It has a TN Display, the 1060 is only 3GB, but I do like how it is only 4.9lbs.

u/GarenTee · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Thanks for the input!

While the idea of a custom build is really tempting, at this stage of my life school and work are priorities over gaming. So I'm going to be leaning more towards the laptop avenue. Battery life and weight aren't a big concern for me, 95% of the time I will be using it at home anyway. I'll just be taking it to campus for class and studying occasionally. As far as size goes i'm looking at the 15-17 inch range.

Here is another ASUS I found on amazon that appears to have most of the specs I need and mostly good reviews. Thoughts? Feel free to PM me if that's easier too.

Thanks again!

Deciding between [this Asus Gaming computer](https://www.amazon.com/FX502VM-AS73-15-6-inch-Gaming-7th-Gen-Windows/dp/B01N9QKYZ9/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1498099104&sr=1-3&keywords=gaming+laptop+1060 Acer Predator 300 and this and the Acer Predator 300. The ASUS FX502VM with a 3GB mGPU has 4.3 Stars with 206 reviews but the Acer 300 with a 6GB mGPU has 3.8 stars with 50 reviews, what gives?

I am looking for basically the same things as you with a similar but slightly smaller budget - Heres some interesting ones I like.

Its a couple hundred over your budget but the Gigabyte Aero looks amazing, youtuber reviewers all seem to love it, It looks professional and not these over the top gamer laptops that I hate as well, it has a GTX1060 for gaming, it has almost no bezels which makes it lok amazing. Its over my budget by about $400 but I'm still considering getting it.

Bonus it has a very good battery, and is very thin and portabl easier for work and has the SD card reader you mentioned.

They also have a 14" version that is only about $100 over your budget with the same design and specs, except for it has larger Bezels on this verison.

https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-Aero-15W-BK4-i7-7700HQ-GeForce/dp/B07141QMKD

Also there is this ASUS FX502 - Got the gamign specs and again its more professional looking, really toned down on "GAMERZ! look" I I have heard confliccting reports about its thermals so I would look more in to that if you like it.

Acer Aspire V 15 Nitro - Again more professional looking and good gamign specs
