I think you mean 4k console gaming is a decade away.

My PC is ready for 4K gaming, I'm just waiting on an affordable 4k 60hz screen and I'm good to go. ASUS already has a 30" 4K monitor, but its a bit too expensive right now.

u/Rolder · 12 pointsr/Games

Here's one: http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-PQ321Q-31-5-Inch-4K-Monitor/dp/B00DJ4BIKA

Expensive as fuck though. 1440p @ 60fps is good enough for me.

Strange. This monitor by ASUS cost $3500, the only 4k monitor I could find, but this 39 inch TV is only $700 dollars and has a higher refresh rate. Why is this?

u/TheCuntDestroyer · 8 pointsr/Games

You can get a nice Asus one here for $3.3k! (lol)

u/pickandchoose · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

They don't cost $8,000. Here is one for $3,500. And I'm not sure on the quality of those Seiki monitors, but they are like $600.

Getting 3*4k would take too much of his budget (80-100%) unless he wanted to buy 30 Hz 4k TVs instead of monitors.

More realistic would be to get 1 4k monitor (25-40%) or 3 1440p (10-20%, cheap option free shipping to Norway, 3-5 defective pixels, expensive option), 1600p monitors (20-35%, 30" or 27").

If he wants to play FPS he also has the option of however many 1080p 144Hz monitors he wants.

Because your budget allows it, I would suggest one of these. 4k. Awesome.

ASUS has a 31.5" 4K monitor for just under $3400 USD on Amazon.

I have dual 980tis running a 30" UHD right now so I am just concerned about pixel density and things of that nature. How would it compare to this? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DJ4BIKA

u/J0hn-Stuart-Mill · 1 pointr/battlefield_4

Yea, it's true. Viable 4K monitors just hit the market but are still $3,000+. The price will come down though. Very likely will be under $1,000 for BF5.

Which model do you have? Is that one of the CAD engineering monitors?

Here's the best 4K out right now - http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-PQ321Q-31-5-Inch-4K-Monitor/dp/B00DJ4BIKA

Let this blow your mind, then. Forget 1080p, forget 1440p, forget 1600p. 2160p is the future of displays.

Fun fact: if you can find a 15 inch 1080p screen, then you're looking at roughly the same pixel density of that 4K screen. ~140 PPI. They're beautiful.

u/vishal2100 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

probably but if you want a gaming monitor go withhttp://www.amazon.com/ASUS-PQ321Q-31-5-Inch-4K-Monitor/dp/B00DJ4BIKA

but as a whole 4k is still in its early stages unless you really want it, ill wait another 2-3 years. also by then the gpus will be much better for 60fps+ as now the 290x cant get 60+fps @ 4k in most games

i would however go for 1440p

u/Mister_Snrub · 1 pointr/apple

It may be reasonable, but it won't be cheap.

Reaspmable still means something like $2,000 or $3,000 since we're talking about a 4k display. Look at this one on Amazon

u/kiwikish · 1 pointr/Surface

Everyone else seeemed to answer 1 and 3 pretty thoroughly. Yes and yesish respectively.

As for 2. That would highly depend on budget restraints. You can't go wrong with any of the new ASUS monitors though, they look beautiful. If you want to keep scaling and whatnot to a minimum between your displays, I would stick with getting a monitor capable of handling 1440p. But otherwise just get any monitor really, it'll do fine. If you really want to splurge, get this.
Your SP3 will be able to handle the 4k resolution through the displayport. From what I understand.

u/illegal-bacon · 1 pointr/videos

There is one on amazon for the low price of $2500.

u/Ilan321 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Straight off the Sapphire site:
> The display resolution on AMD Radeon HD7000 series is quadrupled to the resolution of 4KX2K( 4096X2160 ) from the outputs of DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI.

You just need a 4K monitor for it, which is quite pricey.

u/thurst0n · 0 pointsr/buildapc

This is really the only option as I see it...

Try $3300 for a 4K monitor

u/SomeWeirdDude · -1 pointsr/ifiwonthelottery

Ok, in reality if I suddenly won the lottery I would get a much better monitor. PCPartPicker does not have screens much larger than that. I would do some more research and get something more like this (and that one was just a quick search).

u/Thotaz · -8 pointsr/titanfall

>2560by1440 max resolution for a single monitor. You can go wider but 1440p max vertical.

Why are you talking out of your ass? Here's an example of a monitor with a higher resolution http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-PQ321Q-31-5-Inch-4K-Monitor/dp/B00DJ4BIKA

>Very few games actually support 4k.

Depends on what you mean by support. Some games like BF3 are terrible at 4k because the UI doesn't scale at all, so things like your minimap would be tiny. But simply running at 4k? Almost every single game made in the last 10 years support it.
