It's one of my favourites. Depending on where you live, it can be a long bike through the city until you get to a nice path. If by nice you mean away from busy streets. The area around Buch is nice. Karower Teiche, Hobrechtsfelde, Schönower Heide etc. But if you live in Mitte, you could take the S1/S2. They are never very full and you can easily reach Hennigsdorf and take the Mauerweg or go to Bernau or Oranienburg and cycle back. I recommend Komoot. I have a poor sense of direction and it has helped me tremendously. Just plan a route through the website and navigate with earphones. Something like this:

https://www.amazon.de/Bose-SoundSport-Kopfh%C3%B6rer-Samsung-Android/dp/B0117RFPCC/ref=lp_617060011_1_12?s=ce-accessories&ie=UTF8&qid=1501256041&sr=1-12

You can use just one and you'll still hear everything, as these don't require you to jam them into your ear. Though I can't actually recommend those particular ones, they don't last long.

I've been using these with my Android phone: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0117RFPCC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Very comfortable. Other earbuds would lead to discomfort, but these have been nice.

Unsure how well it works with a PC, it use's one three-pole TRSS connection (2.5mm jack with 3 rings on it; rings for left channel, right channel, mic, so if PC port isn't 3-pole mic input might not be applied.)

Alternatively, one can look for clip-on microphones that plug into the microphone port and attach them to some comfortable headphones or earbuds.

Not the best noise isolation though - the price to pay for comfort I guess.

On my desktop this is what I found works for me:

https://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-AD700X-Audiophile-Open-Air-Headphones/dp/B009S332TQ/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=AD700&qid=1562693195&s=gateway&sr=8-1&th=1

with https://www.amazon.com/Zalman-Zm-Mic1-Sensitivity-Headphone-Microphone/dp/B00029MTMQ/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?keywords=zalman+clip-on+mic&qid=1562693251&s=electronics&sr=8-1-fkmr0

for clip-on mics you might want to search for one that does a better job with noise cancellations. I'm recalling the zalman will pickup stuff like keyboard typing. I had to alter gain and other stuff to get it calibrated.

There is a less expensive AD500 model as well. I like the Audiotechnica's because they're quite comfortable. However, I know this isn't exactly the typical 'headset+mic' combo that get's used in sales. I got this equipment for video gaming, back when I still could do that years ago.

> Obviously, QC35s are pretty pricey, since they're fairly new. Because of that, though, you can buy the older QC25s relatively cheap now.

My point is you said QC35's are $200 in the US, where they're more far more expensive than that in the UK, I only know a single person who have them.

>they also pay money for those shitty Beats by Dre headphones, which cost just as much, if not more than Bose headphones

Wireless Beats are still over £100 cheaper than the Bose QC35's in the UK, at £219 for Beats compared to £329 for QC35's. I don't think you're getting my point that Bose headphones are ridiculously expensive in the US, all tech is.

>They also make the very decent OEs, which can be bought for $70-100. The same with their IE lineup.

I can't find the OEs for sale anywhere in the UK, and the IE (I assume in-ear?) are still £79 from Amazon ($106) which is still fairly expensive for a pair of in-ear headphones.

Like I said, most people will just use cheap in-ear headphones from Amazon that are roughly £20-30, outside of specific tech enthusiast boards like this, you'll be hard pressed to find an average user who actually cares about the quality difference between bluetooth and wired. Most people just want what's convenient, and if a company removes a headphone jack, they'll just grab a cheap pair of bluetooth headphones.

Subreddits like this aren't indicative of the general public when it comes to consumers.

I know there it's a lot of hate for Beats, but I have had a pair of these for over a year and they're great. The were $25 when I got them. Now they're $34.

The ear buds I use daily are bose, another brand that that gets hate. They have great sound, fit comfortably and stay in your ears. I've had them for years with no issues. You can find them for about $60. I think mine are refurbished

Budget: Under $150

Source: Primarily cell phone (Lumia 925, but the samsung android ones work with it)

Isolation: Not needed

Public Use: on the train, at the gym, when biking/roller blading/walking

Preferred Type: In Ear

I was previously using the Bose MIE2 headphones as my go to headphones cause I do various sport/fitness stuff as they stayed in my ear the best.

Unfortunately the wiring has given out on me, so I'm left with 2 choices.

  1. buy a new set (open to suggestions)

  2. Make use of Bose trade in program where they take my old ones and will offer me a 50% discount on the new ones Bose SoundSport

    what do you folks suggest?

  • Budget - Around 100$. Maybe I can push it to 125 but since I'm a student, it's kind of an issue.
  • Source - LG G6, I want wired(3.5mm or type-c).
  • Requirements for Isolation - It would be nice. I'm planning to use these in library while studying and using public transportation. But mainly I will use them in my room.
  • Will you be using these Headphones in Public? - Yes. But not frequently.
  • Preferred Type of Headphone - I want wired in-ear headphones with good fit(I don't know the name for that, ear fin? sport-fit? you got the idea.)
  • Preferred tonal balance - Overall balanced.
  • Past headphones - I am currently using these I like its fit.
  • Preferred Music - Nothing spesific really. I have a mixed taste.
  • What would you like to improve on from your set-up - A greater overall sound quality and good isolation.
  • Looks like Bose QC20 is exactly what I want but it is way over my budget. So maybe this one or this one is good for me. I really don't know what I should buy. ANC feature looks really sweet but I've never tried it, so I'm not sure if should buy a headphone with ANC. Thanks.

If you want something that let's your ear breath a little with good sound and for me at least a very comfortable fit while being made for sports, try these

If those don't work out, I absolutely love my Bose SoundSport earbuds. I tend to go through earbuds pretty fast and found that most I've had weren't a great fit for me. If anything happens to these, I'd buy them again in a heartbeat.

Disclaimer: I'm not an audiophile, but I do enjoy using them for music and audio books. I'm sure the reviews probably have an audiophile's perspective if that's what you're looking for though.

Edit: I forgot to mention that having three buttons is amazing. Volume up, pause, and volume down while listening to music or audio books. I think they do stuff during calls too, but I so rarely use that feature in my phone.

Willing to drop 100-400 for the best earbuds I can get. I hate in ear noise isolating knobs, they make me feel like I hear the insides of my body. I had the old version of these bose guys: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0117RFPCC/

I know bose is overpriced, but I did like the earbuds fit A LOT (I guess they are called "Stay Hear tips"). Is there anything better out there? Android pause and volume and microphone are great. Would love a replaceable cable option. Using it with smartphone, mp3 player while commuting, walking and cycling
