> I am legal age in my state, just not legal age to conceal carry yet (which I most definitely plan on doing when I turn 21) but I do want a pistol.

You have to be 21 to purchase a pistol--federal law.

The hotter the round the slower the follow, at least as a general rule. You don't want "oomph" you want something comfortable to shoot and controllable. You want it comfortable because you're going to need to shoot it a lot to get good at it.

As far as what kind to get, go to a range that rents guns and rent some guns.

After you've tried three or four (at least) sit down and figure out what characteristics are *most* important to you. Is easy concealablity more important than magazine size? Do you want polymer or metal frame? Striker or Hammer? Revolver or Pistol, Single Action, Traditional Double Action or Double Action Only.

https://www.amazon.com/Bulldog-Vaults-Personal-Security-1-8-Inch/dp/B00PBIH8UQ/ comes with a cable to lock it to something.

Or https://www.amazon.com/Stack-GCB-500-Steel-Pistol-Cabinet/dp/B002TOKR2G/ that you bolt to the wall or another cabinet.

No, they aren't really safes, and no they won't stop a determined thief. The first one you can sort of stick somewhere non-obvious. The second one...is a little harder to hide.

There's a brazilian other options on Amazon.

Bah. That's no fun.
