I've had these for a couple years now and love them. Constantly get compliments and it's nice not to have timberlands like every other guy.

I live in the Midwest and work in a business casual workplace. It's cold for roughly 6 months out of the year, and it's pretty damn snowy. I have a budget of $350-$400 to spend, but I'd really like to be able to wear these boots six months out of the year for 5+ years. My last pair of boots were $40 and lasted that long.

I like these boot styles, and as I understand it these companies are some of the best ones that offer boots in the $200-$400 price range.

Any recommendations looking at these boots? I'm still getting familiar with terminology, possible defects, etc.

Is it worth it to invest in waterproof boots so that I don't have to spray any of these every few days/weeks? Any recommendations for cheaper pairs that are somewhat similar or more durable as well?

You can also get the Chippewa Apache for pretty cheap if you use Amazon's 20% off clothing deal for a first time purchase (look around, you'll find it). I would consider stacking your jeans instead of rolling though, I find it suits the aesthetic much better.

If you decide to go with the Chippewa go with the lug sole. The other ''flat'' sole is very slippery. If you get them from amazon you should be able to get 20% off as well. Size down half a size from your regular size. They are a very comfortable boot. I wouldn't waste time with the Eastland boot unless you can get them for under $70.

I bought these Chippewas as a winter boot. I put some sno-seal on and wore them during the Snowzilla of 2016. Kept my feet dry and the lugged sole was great.
