I'm not 100% sure it would make that much of a difference but you could try to crush up the carbon.

These are some fans I'm looking at now actually, I am going to try setting up a push/pull type system with the carbon in the middle.

I had the exact same problem! I solved this by installing These

And this should make it easier to get it where you want them.

The lights are very well made and sleeved. They are a massive step up from cathode tubes IMO. If i could go back I'd get the silent edition fans instead of the high performance ones. They're not terribly loud, but the silents would be just fine for cooling and slightly quieter.

In regards to the gpu sagging a bit I will try bringing the power down from above it but the 780dc2 is just so damn heavy from that backplate lol. It does look worse in the pictures than it is in person though.

Yeah, I am really torn between the H105 or the CM 212 Evo. The H105 would look so nice in my case with my motherboard. I have a red amd black them going on. So if I did go with the H105, I would buy this.

Hum. it would be 85 after shipping. Trying not to spend more then $60 if possible, going back to school budget is limited atm. Would the [Corsair Air SP 120] (https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-SP120-High-Performance-Twin/dp/B007RESFYK/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1487157440&sr=1-1&keywords=sp120&th=1) be a good alternative?

What kind of temperature differences do you think I would get between these two?

Corsair SP 120 = 62.74 CFM / 3.1mmH2O /2350RPM
Noctua NF-F12 = 71.69 CFM /3.94mmH20/200RPM

So, your title specifically mentions SP fans - Are you just wanting to (primarily) replace the fans on the radiator? Or are you wanting to also add more fans to the case in general? SP fans are designed for water cooling.. if you wanted to add more regular case fans, you would be better off with "regular" air flow fans over SP fans.

I don't want to be Debbie Downer - But from a PERFORMANCE standpoint, you are likely not going to see any sort of noticeable performance gain on an H110i (IE lower temps) - If you wanted to replace them simply for aesthetics, but still want good performance, it's hard to go wrong with the [Corsair SP's] (https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-SP120-High-Performance-Twin/dp/B007RESFYK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1466186852&sr=8-1&keywords=corsair+SP)- but they will basically be exactly like the fans that are already on there... with the exception of the color ring.

What are you using for a case? And are you having issues with ambient temps? Or just looking for better CPU performance? How many fans are you wanting to add?

I am running close to 25 of those Corsair SP's on my gaming rig (under water) and haven't had any issues with them.. they are all silent as a whisper and I haven't had any of them fail or any issues in almost 3 years.

I am running [these] (https://www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-Riing-120mm-Adjustable-Radiator/dp/B014QW98SC/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1466186886&sr=8-3&keywords=riing+120) on my server - I know they are probably not the greatest SP fans... but it's just the CPU underwater and I am using a 360mm rad, so it's plenty overkill, even if the fans are terrible... It's built in Corsair 540 case and I wanted some kind of RGB lighting since these are on the front of the case.. And from that perspective, I think they are pretty cool.. definitely better than any of the other types of LED fans I've used in the past.

TLDR - you can replace the fans if you want to, but I doubt very much that it will increase the performance at all.

What is everyone's issue with AiO coolers? My Corsair H100 with Push/Pull and 4 fans at 100% is nearly silent. Temps in the low 30c idle and mid 50c at 100%. That is with a 1.5Ghz OC @ 1.41v for 4.7Ghz

u/Cydae · 1 pointr/buildapc

I have similar fans on my computer. The The SP 120 quiet editions and I don't think I have ever really heard them. I think something is wrong with them though, because they sit at 750 rpm instead of the advertised 1450. Best of luck!

u/mastermikeee · 1 pointr/watercooling

Why though? Pure quality? High static pressure? Explain why that's the best thing.

Was thinking about getting these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007RESFYK/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

u/jacobcj · 1 pointr/buildapc

My computer is a touch loud. I have a corsair air 240, with only 2 case fans running (one intake in the front, one out on the top).

Currently looking at these. They're affordable and it says theyre quiet.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

u/CrazyAsian_10 · 1 pointr/buildapc

Alrighty then, your epic pain skills have convinced me haha

Which of these would you recommend? Keep in mind the Phantom has a built in fan controller in it.

The following are the parts I'll be purchasing for this build. I think I've covered everything, but as this will be my first custom loop if someone could give it the once over and make sure I'm not forgetting something it would be GREATLY appreciated!

You can get 2 twin packs of the sp120s for almost the same price can't you? $4 more for 4 sp120s new on Amazon. I'd give you $15 for the twin pack though.

I have 3 high CFM fans in the front and 2 on the top and 1 exhaust fan. The FE is considered to be exhausted fan too. As long as you have a fan near the card supplying it with air from outside the case you'll be fine.

Edit: Few of these will help with flow if your case is compatible

I have the H100's radiator in a push/pull with four of these.

I have this on the back of the case as exhaust.

My case is a HAF X, with two 200mm top fans (both exhaust), a 200mm side fan (intake), and a 230mm front fan (intake). I also have a 120mm fan mounted to exhaust heat from my GPU. I am probably going to remove the GPU exhaust fan since I recently replaced my two GTX 580's with a 780.

Counting the radiator fans, my case has 10 fans. And it's still rather quiet (~29db according to Smart Tools on my phone). The stock fans that came with the H100 were way louder than the new ones I put on there. On startup, those fans sounded like a jet engine.

Looking at the thermal radar of my motherboard (Sabertooth Z77), everything is ~22-29c. The hottest part is the DRAM at 29c.
