I’m an audio engineer by trade. I literally have so much money invested in headphones I usually cringe at beats and other trendy headphones. These are built well and have decent sound and a great battery.

TaoTronics are pretty highly rated for the price.
MPow also makes really good options for the price.
Cowin are also worth a look, but do cost more.

I got the Cowan E7 Pro headphones on Amazon for $60. They are $90 now, but they might go on sale again. I love them. I can still hear some noise but it’s significantly reduced.

I wanted to spend < $100 on good headphones I'd be using while traveling home each day (roughly two hours on public transport).

Beautiful. I just expensed a pair of $90 headphones a few weeks ago. They're pretty good! I still get distracted through, so I'm gonna try wearing foam earplugs under them and turning up the volume. If that isn't a workable solution, I'll keep the QuietComfort 2 bookmarked.

Best pair of headphones I’ve ever owned. If you’re worried about a mic, buy one with the extra bit of cash that you saved from a $300 pair.
Edit: I’ve had them for two years with absolutely no problem.
