I bought a CVLIFE 6-9 inch bipod on Amazon for $17. It works great for shooting at the range and seems well made. I've never had a Harris or any other expensive brand to compare it to though.

You mean “CV Life” bipod. $19 (or less) on amazon. Great bipod but your price is WAY off.

What do you know/think about the $20 bipods on amazon like this and this? I bought the CVLife for a budget AR but I don't know enough about bipods to know if it would be a good choice for a long range gun

This to complete the dirt cheap build. Harris if you want a quality one.

Yeah, pretty sure it's this one. it was super cheap and the spring rattle is pretty loud but for a cheapie bipod it fits my needs pretty well. Mine didn't come CVlife branded though.

If you're feeling a little more wealthy than the $16 bipod I really like my buddy's caldwell pivot. it sits a bit higher with the legs out and can pivot to adjust if your bench isnt even.

Don't think that attachment will work for the keymod though. The cheapest I've seen the attachment is around $50. I thought about going with something like this instead and just putting a rail section on the bottom of the hand guard. https://www.amazon.com/CVLIFE-Inches-Tactical-Adjustable-Adapter/dp/B01E4YVCOA/ref=sr_1_4?s=hunting-fishing&ie=UTF8&qid=1491854047&sr=1-4&keywords=bipod

On a budget? I've actually been really enjoying using the CVlife telescoping bipod, sub $20 on amazon for my bolt .223.

I'm partial to the nikon m-233 or p-223, they also have a 308 variant for a bit more. The p-223 runs sub 150 at cabellas, but I'm sure you can find a cheaper one.

If you're looking for even cheaper glass, well, just click around and you'll find something usable.

It doesnt mount that well on this rifle. But the stock is a little irregular. If it was more rounded i think it would work better.

I put a Harris on the front stud. You can get an adapter to mount a rail segment to a stud, but they add alot of bulk to the setup. If money is an issue, one of these Harris clones will get the job done for bench and level ground shooting:

With an unlimited budget and I assume you want an M4?

VFC MK18 cause I like MK18s

Polarstar F2 cause I've heard it's the best on the market

Redline SFR Regulator and airline cause again, heard they're the best.

Ninja 45/4500 Carbon fiber tank cause carbon fiber is light and strong.

ZCI steel barrel lapped and r-hopped by /u/lsherlockl

Hop up worked on by lsherlockl as well

If I had to choose any gun at all, I'd go with my planned build, just with some extra parts:
