Well that stupid bulb is an expensive fuck for how delicate it is. I tried a cheaper ($40) one and it didn't work once, it tried to actuate and the plate that's supposed to do the pulling just went C-shaped. The decent ones cost about $80, but I haven't tried any of them. There's a kit to convert it to a pull-cable setup where you push the button to get the t-case to select gear, and then pullcable engage the diff yourself. Or you can get one of these guys and rig it up yourself somehow.

I'm not entirely up to speed on how the whole system works but the bulb is a common point of failure, or the switch that sits on the t-case itself. Which is this guy. If that fails, it'll suck ATF into the vacuum system that controls the front diff engagement, which can tear up the bulb.
