I am a bargain hunter and I spent a lot of time looking for goodies!
I actually got the Dremel 3000 for $50. After some time using it, it became unbalanced where all of my pins started looking wonky. I sent Dremel an email about it, they sent me a shipping label so I can send it to them to check out. They replaced it with the 4000 for free!
There is one disadvantage to the 4000 and that is the keyless chuck. It works great for bits but when it comes to brass, it will leave 3 dents in it. Instead, I picked up the Dremel Collet Set. That puts an even pressure on the brass and holds it nice and tight without leaving any dents.
I didn't buy the flex shaft. What I do is chuck up the dremel in a hobby vise and put all of that inside of a box to catch all of the brass dust. I also apply pressure to the files to the under side of the brass so I can see how much material I am removing and make on the fly adjustments.
Before /u/h0rizonfire made his video (great work dude!) I was planning on creating a document with pictures to show techniques to get certain shapes when using specific files. I had even made some of the file shapes in PhotoShop for overlays. I still plan on doing that but it is something that can take some time. In the meantime, you can see that I did a basic version of shaping pins right here.
