Here are the other EVGA ones:

Just watch /r/buildapcsales. Got me an EVGA 1080 SC for $499 about a month ago. Wondering if I should've waited for 1080ti deal instead but I'll be happy with what I got. It's $569 now at least.

u/jeohphys · 5 pointsr/bapcsalesaustralia

I remember buying 16Gb of corsair vengeance DDR4 3000MHz CL15 for AU$85 a year ago. Prices are so fucked at the moment.

As others have said though, you can get some better deals through Newegg and Amazon. I bought my motherboard and SSD from Newegg and saved about $200 (mainly on the mobo) compared to buying in Aus from PCCG etc.

I bought my RAM from Amazon in mid 2016 (when prices weren't crazy) but I'd say they will still be a bit cheaper than an Aussie vendor

EDIT:
Although OOS at the moment, this is sold by EVGA through Amazon and works out to be around AU$730

Hey I have a 4 GTX 1080s. Im unforutanetly not in the market for another one though, but I definitely want these sold.
This was in my posting from a couple of days ago:

2 x EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 SC GAMING ACX 3.0 (looks brand new, looks to have no signs of use) - $565 shipped each (don't be silly)

1 x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Founders Edition (minor scratching on shroud) - $525 shipped

1 X Gigabyte GeForce GTX GV-N1080G1 GAMING-8GD (like new) - $550 shipped

u/high_changeup · 2 pointsr/buildapcsales

Watch Amazon warehouse deals and you should be able to get an MSI armor, this one, or others for around $520 and lower. And just decide what style cooling you want beforehand and read reviews and benchmarks. You have to accept paying a premium for certain models, it's only up to you if it's worth it.

Current examples: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/ol/B01GAI6478/ref=mw_dp_olp?ie=UTF8&condition=all

$517 EVGA . MSI gaming X is $525 which is pretty damn low for that card model.

u/jumpthegun · 2 pointsr/buildapcsales

similar to the deal posted before: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GAI6478/

Is this a good deal for this card or should I HODL?

u/Marshmelo2 · 2 pointsr/buildmeapc

You can find 1080s for around $500. r/buildapcsales

Edit: just an example if you wanna spend a tad more:

A more balanced build than the one posted already. The other post put a high-end monitor with a mid range GPU which won't be able to get 60FPS on Ultra on any intensive game. He also put the Intel i5s which are heavily beaten by AMD Ryzen.

Ryzen 5 1600

16GB of 3200 speed DDR4 RAM

500GB SSD + 1TB HDD

GTX 1080 which is a strong graphics card that can be paired with any 1440p monitor, even 144hz on some games. That same model is a few $ cheaper off Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GAI6478/ref=twister_B01GFU3AW8

Amazon Prime has an EVGA 1080 for just about $500 (a few dollars less) it's used - "Like New" condition.

Here's the link: EVGA 1080

You may be able to find one cheaper here on HWS but if you can't then here you go. Good luck.

You might want to get Z270 as well since you are going 7700K. Usually the 100 series motherboards require a bios update to work with kabylake CPUs

The mobo is $109 after rebate and comes with the latest ALC1220 audio codec

You could also get rid of the sound card and perhaps extend the budget by $50 to get this:

I ordered the EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 SC GAMING ACX from Amazon USA for 968AUD delivered. No ETA yet. If the Asus one goes up close to that price locally before it ships I'll cancel. But im not counting my chickens.

I found a EVGA 1080 Superclocked for $583 used on Amazon just this week. Now the cheapest is $596

https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B01GAI6478/ref=sr_1_1_olp?ie=UTF8&qid=1479704055&sr=8-1&keywords=evga+1080+sc&condition=used

Don't forget that used exists and EVGA (or your vendor of choice) should still support their card if it's a dud. This card has been great so far and the last one (XFX Radeon R9 280X w/3 GB RAM) for about $100 off and it's still going strong.

Here's another EVGA card for $540, maybe faster shipping

Amazon 1080

u/Sinoops · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Here is a SC one I found on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01GAI6478/ref=mp_s_a_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1467313295&sr=1-11&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=gtx+1080

The reason you can't find them tho is because almost all of the SC and FTW edition cards are sold out. Which is also why the price for that one above is really high.

Just bought a 4K TV, GTX 970 can't handle all games in 4K. Decided to return it for refund (is the deal still on the table?) and upgrade to a GTX 1080.

Anyway, when is the perfect time to return so that I can have money by Cyber Monday or Black Friday? Also, do I have to adjust my PC to a certain setting to use the integrated Intel graphic card?

Also, what is the difference between the gajillion types of GTX 1080s? eg this¹, this², and this³.

Finally, is Zotac good? Or is it better to spend a bit more for the more popular brands? Good?. What about this?

  1. When's the best time to return so that I'd have the money by Cyber Monday?
  2. How can I switch to Intel graphics so that I can use the PC without any graphic card?
  3. What's the difference between the aforementioned types of GPUs?
  4. Can you recommend Zotac?

Edit: Here's my build. Is there any particular GPU you can recommend based on it? Any notes on the upgrade?

I'd like to petition for a new GPU. This GTX 1080 should do nicely. $644.99 with free shipping if you have Amazon Prime ;) Thanks and good luck with your future stock purchases!

u/RaVNzCRoFT · 1 pointr/buildapc

Thanks for the reply!

I read some threads comparing the 1600 to the 7600k and I think I agree on the 1600 being a good choice. Looks like the Ryzen platform will be strong for the future and the 6 cores may prove to be a bonus as games start being designed to use more of them.

If you're able to, can you ELI5 the difference between those two motherboards? The one you suggested has better reviews and is 40% cheaper. Mobos are like black boxes to me so I'm just trying to gain a better understanding here.

That GPU looks pretty good but it seems some people have had issues with it. What are your thoughts on something like this? My current GPU is an EVGA 750 ti which has served me well -- starting to show its age, but I bought it a few years ago as a value card anyway.

Side note: I didn't realize until just now that for being 7 years old, the CPU in my current PC is pretty darn good -- i7-860 @ 3.2 GHz. I guess it figures, since my sysadmin brother configured it for me. Could probably sell it and the 750 ti for a decent return.

Looking to play Destiny 2 and PUBG, going to buy a 144hz monitor with this video card, currently have 8GB RAM and an i5 I believe. My friend built the pc several years back and said everything else would be fine once I upgrade the video card and monitor...

I guess I can be patient and wait the 1-3 weeks for the EVGA: https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Support-Graphics-08G-P4-6183-KR/dp/B01GAI6478

It doesn't really matter but this one should be just fine. You can find cheaper ones on newegg but I didn't know I fyou wanted to buy from there. Here's one

u/SameriteRL · 1 pointr/techsupport

https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Support-Graphics-08G-P4-6183-KR/dp/B01GAI6478

In the picture looking directly at the card itself, There are these two black parallelograms (not sure what they are) on the top and bottom left of the card by the video port side with some screws by it. That's where I found the plastic covering, and not sure if it's important to take it off or not.

u/looncraz · 1 pointr/Amd

I'm missing nothing. Actual measured from the wall consumption is HIGHER than TDP for AMD. The video showed 455W for the delta over idle. Some of that could be CPU - maybe 50~65W or so, but most would be the GPU.

To be a valid product it needs to be competitive in its market. Vega FE, against Titan Xp, has a niche where it is competitive - even at $1,000. That same level of performance, however, as a gaming card, can be had for $540 on Amazon with a consumption of ~200W or less.

RX Vega needs a 20% boost in performance or better WITHOUT using more power to be viable at the same price. Otherwise it will need to be considerably cheaper than the GTX 1080.

I did manual searching through amazon and found a $640 EVGA GTX 1080 new but, I would still recommend a 2070 super or 2080 since they are roughly the same price for better performance.

u/hello2ulol · 1 pointr/buildapc

I'm currently torn between the EVGA 1070ti and the EVGA 1080. Is the performance upgrade of about 100 MHz worth $100?

u/DrEarlGray · 1 pointr/buildapc

Wooooah, you can buy a 1080 for almost half that much (even converting USD-AUD)! https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Support-Graphics-08G-P4-6183-KR/dp/B01GAI6478/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1474571696&sr=1-3&keywords=gtx+1080

Also a lot of games don't support SLI (it's probably more accurate to say that a very few selected titles do support it) so adding a second card is a possibly ineffective move.

u/TheRabidDeer · 1 pointr/videos

How do you account for Amazon filtering out some bogus reviews? Occasionally some things get negative votes even though the vote is not related to the product. For example:

This GTX 1080 has a 4.5 star rating, despite 50% of the reviews being 1 star

How do you account for the other bias in that people tend to review products either when they are good or bad (the 1 star vs 5 star bias, with 2-4 being less common)?

What are the odds that the selection bias exists largely because people receive products that they would normally like anyway and do you account for this?

I have no doubt that some reviews are absolutely biased, but I am not so sure that they are "extremely biased"

Nobody knows. Which is why I included at least one that's... still a blower-style fan, but at least $30 cheaper.

Mind you, pcpartpicker rarely has up-to-date information on stock. There's other sites for that, or you can just look through amazon by yourself. There's a few in stock right now. Clicky

Is my build ready for an EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 SC GAMING ACX 3.0, 8GB GDDR5X, LED, DX12 OSD Support (PXOC) Graphics Card 08G-P4-6183-KR?

Anyone have any opinions on the other vartiations of the 1080? Anything worth the extra bucks?
