Your charger should work, that is strange. I use this:

Get something like this it isn't cheap, but it's solid product from a reputable company. A good charger is worth the money. Cheapo chargers can be hard on your battery, and they can also produce a massive field of electronic distortion that can cause weird problems like the tire pressure sensors to not work.

I think the 5-amp (4.5 volt) Huawei charger is (essentially) proprietary. I use an Aukey car charger and Aukey wall charger when not using the stock charger. I don;t think you will find a non-Huawei charger with those amperage/volt specs. If you do, please let us know!

Although, to be honest, I don't really need to charge the phone aside from plugging it in on my nightstand before going to sleep, and I use an older 'slow' charger for that since it'll have 6-7 hours to charge. I also plug in to the above car charger when using navigation, and it charges the phone at a pretty fast speed.

Aukey 2.4A charger

Apparently supports quick charge 3.0 and seems to work well. Still charges quickly while using GPS+Bluetooth audio

Yes. Note7 is really the best phablet option on Verizon They'll be available October 21st. Get a fast charger for the car and your phone will never die in the car. Re Camera - the S7 series all have the same camera and it has been applauded by many reviewers as the best smartphone camera available.

Edit: here's a quick charger I recommend: https://www.amazon.com/Aukey-CC-T7-Technology-Smartphones-Certified/dp/B019OSX8UC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1474310231&sr=8-2&keywords=quick+charge+car+charger

I was totally surprised by the cable having design features slowing quick charging and also the proper cable allows for maximum transfer speeds. I always through it was just a wire making contact but I think there are other wires telling the phone more about the charging block it's connected to. Is voltage regulators. Cables do wear out so that might be a issue too. Dust getting caught in everything.

As far as the charging block it has to be Qualcomm certified,

I have this one for my car and it's amazing never a issue and charges as fast as possible. I'm sure the wall version is just as good. But the manual says to only use the HTC U11 charger destined for it FYI....which I have never used because my phone didn't come with one(out of box for 350 2 years ago)

I agree this stuff should be bullet proof. All the other brand phones also have these issue with charging cables and blocks FYI. The research I did it was explained that the technologybin these phones are the same across the board and the batteries are the only difference. It's a pure hardware issue. But yeah stick with name brand cables and chargers that are Qualcomm approved.

It's kinda like trying to weigh a letter for postage with a scale set up on a trampoline full of kids. It's bouncing up and down, so it looks like the letter weight is going up and down because it doesn't have a stable reference point because it's getting noise from the power line.

Laptop, you'd have to find a DC adapter for that model of laptop. Dell used to make some, not sure about other brands. They are kinda pricey considering you already have the inverter.

For phones, there are a couple different charge technologies, but they are all USB (sort of). Normal 5v USB is limited to 0.5 amps, so it charges slow. There is a higher power 5v USB, which is I believe 1.1 amps, and then there are USB charging adapters that put out somewhere around 2 amps. 2 amps is about the limit for the cable, so to charge faster than that they have what are called 'quick charge' adapters, which operate at voltage higher than 5v, either 9 or 12v depending on the device being charged.

Most of them are wall adapters, so I'm assuming that's what you mean by 'mains charging [was] faster'. But, they do make [DC quick chargers] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019OSX8UC?psc=1&smid=A142BGUZC6UH73) that will charge just as fast as the wall. It will also be more efficient than firing up a 1kw inverter to step it up to mains voltage to run a 30ish watt switching power supply that converts it back down to 5/9/12v. I'm not recommending that specific model; it seems to have good reveiws but I've never used that specific one.

Just make sure your phone supports quick charge, and know that there is quick charge, qc2.0 and qc3.0. They should be backwards compatible (it would charge at the highest voltage that both support), but I'm not 100% certain on that. You'd also need some way to connect that to the battery, something like this.

I ordered this one and it works perfectly.

I also have one of their wall chargers. They seem like really quality products. Maybe you just got a dud?

Okay thanks for the replies guys! :)

I also bought these chargers on amazon (the German one):
https://www.amazon.com/Charge-AUKEY-Charger-Qualcomm-Certified/dp/B018RR30TK/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1493036451&sr=8-3&keywords=aukey+Quick+Charge+3.0

Because I'm sure you guys in America also got a Chinese charger with your phone. Or do you use the same power outlet (or whatever you call that) as China? Does look like it now I see the pictures on amazon.com

It has to be a Qualcomm Quick charge 2.0 or 3.0 compatible plug. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I've used an Aukey and a Ravpower charger. They fluctuate, so if you test them with the Ampere app they register as 200-300 mAh and then two minutes later they're in the thousands. I think the 4 watts they send matters more too?

Current charger, just because it was on sale, and I was attracted to the 4 ports, but it's only got one Quickcharge port I guess. Ravpower: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LCFEQM4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_nxGkDb03ZG7HA

Last charger, I dropped something on it and it broke, otherwise it worked great. Aukey: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019OSX8UC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_mzGkDbE71HGE6

I also got a high quality USB-C wire, not sure if that matters but I believe thin and crappy wires can slow the current.

Just purchased OnePlus 3T Bamboo cover using coupon code of a friend.

OnePlus has an official curved tempered glass available on their online store in India. I will get a ₹ 300 discount coupon in the box so I can get it cheap from their store. Since it is official, I have hopes that it won't give the rainbow effect.

Regarding car charger, this is what I am using since a year flawlessly. http://www.amazon.in/Qualcomm-Charger-Samsung-Wireless-Charging/dp/B019OSX8UC

I will check if my current magnetic holder can hold the weight of OnePlus 3T. It was able to hold a Lumia 950 easily.
