Do you have pictures of the underside so we can see how its attached?

From you pics I see two issues.

  1. Your posts are notched which lends itself to a weak connection and weak post. Nothing you can do here to fix that.

  2. I am guessing your posts are attached with lag bolts which is again a week connection. You need to use thru bolts.

    Once we see the underside we will know more but what I recommend is attach a 2nd 2x8 under the deck as shown in the picture below
