I don't think pockets are a good idea for a welding apron. They will accumulate sparks and slag unless they have a flap in top, and if they do then they will be hard to access with gloves on.

[This](Greenlee 0258-14 Leather Pouch, Heavy Duty, 4-Pocket https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002JASH72/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_8qOjybQN43SZT) is what I use to carry the tools I need most often. It's nice thick leather and when worn at my back it stays out of the way and doesn't catch any sparks.

As for aprons they have a good selection on Amazon but I just use the cheap ones because they are going to get torched anyway.

Edit: changed slap to slag; thanks autocorrect...

this is the tool pouch I use and it’s more than enough. Going to big and your back will hate you.

This is what I usexpected. Fits four tools and tape. You slide your belt through it. I like it because it is small and if I need more tools I can keep them in my back pocket.

Thanks for the replies guys, I've found this here

Combined with a hammer clip do you think that'll do the job?

The tools u/YashinNashi mentioned is the plan to fit in there.

What kind of work?

I pieced mine together with these:
Greenlee 0258-14
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002JASH72/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_PW.Gyb0WWHPTK

Occidental 5520 5 tool holder
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HGAT03U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_jZ.Gyb4QW0BWZ

And the occidental 3 inch belt.

I work in lived in houses, this setup is low profile(for working in rooms with too much furniture) and balanced (so you're not lopsided all day. There's also room for expansion if you want to add a pouch for screws & nuts. The only thing I'm not a huge fan of is how high the occidental 5520 sits. Full size pouches hang down on your thigh, but the 5520 doesn't. It sits right at belt level. When you have a rock saw in the protected slot it sticks up to about the bottom of your ribs and is a little awkward to grab until you get used to it.
