As a gay man, I can say that anal sex is pretty gross without first douching it out. As a very courteous bottom, I make sure my colon is clean before any dick enters it. I use a little thing that hooks up to the shower head so I simply just use the shower water to rinse out my colon. Takes like 5-10 minutes until I'm pushing out clear water and I'm good to go! I'd say it's definitely cleaner than a lot of vaginas.
Note to receivers: DO NOT FILL YOUR ASS WITH A BUNCH OF WATER. Very rookie mistake. The purpose of enemas and douches is to clean the colon for anal play and not to flush out your digestive system. I've never used a showershot before so I can't comment on that but I'm talking about doing 2 quarts of water several times. I use this one off of amazon. 200ml is definitely not enough to get a deep cleaning no matter how many passes you do.
Edit: You know how when you are really sick and your nose gets sore after you blow your nose too much? The same thing can happen to your ass so don't just do a billion small ones. Do 2-3 big ones.
It's only a (rather unsavoury to the modern, squeamish mind admittedly,) suggestion, but you might consider a fecal transplant to restore a diverse gut population.
I'd advise using a closely related donor, since I've read studies indicating that species preference is shaped genetically (among other factors.) Our gut fauna is very individualised - one size does not fit all (another reason why probiotic supplements show very poor results in practice.)
You can even do this at home (there is a small DIY subculture out there,) with an enema kit and a fresh sample from a healthy donor.
For safety's sake, I should point out (because all sources seem to,) that it's a Very Good Idea™ if the donor gets a health check and stool culture test first.
If I got spiked with antibiotics (and that's the only way a clinically significant dose is ever getting into me,) I'd definitely do it.
But I'm not a doctor, and I only suggest investigating the option with an open mind. It's a decision only you can make.
