The Honor 8 isn't a complete murder on price and it sure is more durable than the 6X!
the 32gb honor 8 is $265 at amazon
The Huawei Honor 8 has a very good camera, specs, and battery life. Don't think it is waterproof, though. Priced at $328
The new Moto G5+ should have a very nice camera, good specs, and should have pretty good battery life with a 3000 mha battery and a 625 SD. Water resistant and a forward facing speaker. Waiting on reviews, though. Priced at $229
Both are 5.2 inch screen, which is a little larger than what you are looking for. I've used a Huawei Honor 3c for 3 years, and am still on it, so I trust their build quality.
Cloud storage still uses up your data, fyi.
If you can wait for your paycheck, the ZTE Axon 7 and Honor 8 are both on Amazon.
Pros and Cons of both
ZTE Axon 7 (1/7 but many would argue the Axon 7 is better than the Honor 8)
Honor 8 (3/7)
The only way you're gonna tick off most of the boxes in that checklist is if you double your budget. If you do that, you can look at the Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG V20.
Samsung Galaxy S7 (4/7)
LG V20 (4/7)
The [Huawei honor 8] (https://www.amazon.com/Huawei-Honor-Unlocked-Smartphone-Camera/dp/B01IVV7WGE/ref=as_li_ss_tl?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1485044568&sr=1-21&keywords=phone&refinements=p_36:20000-35000,p_72:2491149011&linkCode=ll1&tag=dimz04-20&linkId=edd4e5dd14ecad7cef0573198e60ba91) would be a nice choice for you. has expanable storage up to 256 gb with sim slot, 4gb ram, good processor performance, works with both t mobile and at & t lte compatibility. under 350 price range.
It was recently on sale from Amazon at $259.99 (sorry, not quite $250). You can see the price history here. Apparently it's gone back up, so you may have to be a little patient.
It's showing as $260 even if i just go look at the Amazon website not signed in, so I don't think it's just for Prime members.

I bought the 64GB variant new on US Amazon for $380, the 32GB variant is currently $325.
IMO it's beyond worth its price!
Or the Honor 8, if you want a white one...3&refinements=p_89%3AHuawei&th=1
I know that you mentioned stock Android, but the Honor 8 at ~$270, depending on color, has to be mentioned. It has EMUI, but otherwise has flagship level cameras and performance.

It should get the Android 8 update given that this phone is not that old. xda support is also not bad for this device. You can checkout devices on Swappa or Amazon 32G White
