Having one of those moments where I know I accomplished a decent amount over the weekend but I keep thinking I wish I had been able to do more. We got home from our mini-vacation on Saturday afternoon, and proceeded to do pretty much nothing the rest of the day mostly out of spent-too-much-time-in-cars-today tiredness. But yesterday I managed to put together an entire IKEA dresser by myself (SO was busy rearranging the garage and I am the IKEA whisperer), built another wood frame, folded and put away clothes, went and got curtain rods and hung up the curtains that came in while we were gone, moved out the giant heavy old dresser and hutch we had in the bedroom (to make way for the regular dresser for him and vanity for me), and set up said vanity. Phew.

Only a few more things left on our list of Fix Up The House. Need one more rug for the kitchen (got a 7' runner at IKEA for $40!!), mirror and lights for the vanity, a coat/shoe rack, need to figure out something better for the couch cushions even if that means dropping $ on foam, two more frames, and I reeeeally want to get some kind of peel-and-stick backsplash for the kitchen but he's pushing me on it. I just know it would make the kitchen look so much nicer but it's not the cheapest thing in the world.

Other than some more decluttering, I think this is all I'd come up with. Oh, I do want to get two of these but at $30 each it makes me sweat so I'm putting it off lol. I can't wait to share pictures when more is done though! Even my SO said, immediately after I put up the curtains, "Wow, it really does look so much brighter in here already!" Yes, feel the improvements, give me free reign, dooo it!

Yes! I Iive by myself and I like having the lights on timers just for security purposes (looks like someone's home even if I'm gone). Switched out my porch lights for smart bulbs and have a living room lamp plugged into a smart plug. They're on a timed schedule. I have another in my bedroom so I don't even have to reach up and turn on the lamp! The ultimate in lazy :)

Both my Eufy Tunable SmartBulbs and TP-Link SmartBulbs will do this. The difference is when they are in the OFF state, you need to flip their corresponding switch off and then back on; at this point they return to a default ON state and a dimmer knob will adjust the brightness.

EDIT: If you’re sold on going the dinner switch method, you’ll probably need to go with something like this but it requires a hub to work with Alexa/GHome.

This is the light box I use. The legs are annoying but it's so cheap so I bought 4. If you buy a light therapy box, definitely go with a trusted brand like the ones you find at your sleep center. I'm very happy with carex as a company. I had an issue with one of the lamps and they promptly sent me a replacement, despite it being past the warranty. They even followed up with me to make sure I got it.

I have it set up on a Wemo plug, but any smart plug will do. I would wait until black friday, all of my smart plugs were free-$5 on Amazon during a promotion, and I bet Amazon will have something for black friday.

This is one of the bulbs that is tunable. I have a few around the house now, I can't remember which is which, and I'm currently out of town. Bulbs also go on sale during black friday and prime day and all that jazz.

Good luck and happy sleeping!

No, but I think there's a slightly more expensive model that does have a temp slider.

Edit: $35 with the temp adjustment

Colored bulbs under $20? That's tough. I got a Kasa multicolor on sale for $25 a few weeks ago, but that's bar far the lowest I've seen (without sacraficing quality). You can definitely get a dimmable, tunable white bulbs for that price though.

I also recommend getting an LED light on a timer to turn on before your alarm, I've got this one, it can be changed to incandescent color when you're going to sleep soon and daylight in the morning.

Get some smart bulbs! I have some that can put out the white light as well as the yellow light to help wind down before bed. They can be controlled with an app and you can set them to turn on or off at a certain time and link up to the sunrise/sunset. You can get ones that are multicolored as well. Below are some links:
