Cherry and Kailh made low profile switches not that long ago for low profile mechanical boards.
Only a few companies are making them like Havit and Tesero but more companies will hop on board later.

The activation force is the same as the OP's Red switches though. So if the red switches are causing hand pain I'd try Gateron Clears instead of these.
I'd suggest one that's not aluminum. The clack sound is deeper and sounds better on a plastic board, especially if you bottom out a lot. Besides the keycaps, I actually prefer my friends super cheap Thermaltake to my Corsair.
I've recently had wrist issues due to spraining my thumb, so the height on most keyboards bothers me. I'm pretty used to chiclet keyboards since I use a laptop a lot, so I've been using this Logitech K380 at home and workt. It's quite good for a $20 keyboard, but I still want a mechanical for at home so I've been looking into the new low-profile mechs like the Tesoro Gram and this one by HAVIT.
I'd say that the reason for the market being smaller is that A. it's harder to make smaller switches, possibly more expensive as well, and B. There's not as much demand.
If you want a low-profile keyboard, there's the upcoming Cooler Master ones.
Havit has this if you want one immediately.
Similar to the surface keyboard (for mechanical switches) would be the dareu and havit kailh low-profile switch keyboards, which come in linear red switches or clicky blue.

Here's a link to the keyboard I'm buying.

Weird looking through this again I actually don't know how I came up with 7mm keycaps. But as you can see the keycaps are alot slimmer than normal ones.
I absolutely love my keyboard, you can find it here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074QM6F7X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_r.KPCb2ZP5VBM
But it has tons of coloring options, it's slimmer than the typical mechanical Keyboard, and it has a detachable cord to plug into the computer!
Hexgears X-1 is probably the highest quality option, though you'll have to wait a month or two for them to be in stock
If you want something cheaper, I'd recommend one of the HAVIT boards from Amazon. 100% or TKL
I'm a programmer. This is my most favorite keyboard I've ever bought. It's mechanical, but the "clickity" is perfect, and low travel (it's 69.99... and 59.99 for the one without the number pad). They list a few options, but the one's that I find great have "Kailh Latest Low Profile Blue Switches". Also the back lighting is really nice.

I don't know what language he's working with, but this book is excellent too. Many of the examples are centered around java/C#, but most concepts apply across many languages. It motivated me to explore further after reading, and to really polish up on my skill set.

Not sure how it compares to anything medium-high end but I have this keyboard and love it a lot. I got it on sale for like $50 so it's a little more now but current price is still great for how quality it feels. Changing the backlight is a little hinky at first but the keys feel great and the board itself is very sturdy without being super bulky (if that matters to you, I have limited space so it was important for me). Definitely click-clacky keys though if you're wanting silent typing, so be aware of that.
Can also give a go-ahead for the Logitech G mice, I have one of the wireless G305 as I rarely use mice for games and it's very snappy and responsive and feels great to use. I see the G series recommended a lot for "budget" pics on /r/buildapcforme and the like.
Here's one on amazon similar to it, low profile. Couldnt tell you anything about it, I saw a five minute review on it last night and what I got out of it was that the keyboard is slim.

Hi! I'm pretty new to the keyboard game and I was wondering if you guys could give me an opinion on some keyboard choices I've chosen. Based on my preferences:
I am looking for suggestions if these aren't worth the price.

I know these are blues, but to me the low profile blue switches doesn't sound too clacky...

I've been looking at new keyboards, specifically my first mechanical keyboard. I stumbled upon the low-profile switches from Kailh and Cherry. That reminded me that I used to love low-profile flat laptop-like keys before settling on "normal-profile" keys in my current Logitech G510s for the macro keys. So now, I've been looking for low-profile mechanical full keyboards. I'm going to post some I'm aware of, and my opinions on them. I'd like to know your opinions on them as well as any keyboards I've missed. I'm very much a novice at this stuff so any corrections or any comments at all is very much appreciated. Thanks.

The keycaps on the Gram XS, K1, and SK650 are pretty much exactly what I want. Meanwhile the actual function key configuration of the Blade Air(Calc, Mute, Volume buttons. No function legends. Especially near-pointless ones like the LED profiles on the HV-KB395L.) is exactly how I want it. I like the sound of the Kailh Blues in the HV-KB395L the best. The Cherry Reds in the K70, SK650, and assumedly the Blade Air haven't sounded nearly as nice from the videos I've seen. I'm concerned about the build quality of the Gram XS, and possibly the K70 and K1. Never heard of the Fraly switches in the K1. The SK650 looks fantastic, but has a huge step-up in price($140 vs ~$70-100 for most of these), and apparently lacks things like a mute button, brightness adjustment, adjustable feet, etc. Overall, it feel like I should wait for the Ducky Blade Air(concerned about it's price), or buy the Havit now, and either way, hope for some compatible keycaps to surface.

But what are your opinions? Have I missed any keyboards worth noting? Which would you recommend? I'd love to hear anything else you'd want to add. Thanks.

Comes in full size or TKL, but only clicky switches
Edit: be aware there are 4 keyboards on the product page, but 2 of them are not chocs
Not too many to choose from,Corsair K70 mk. ii, Havit full size, and coolermaster 60% (this is smaller than a TKL).
Like maybe something like this with some function keys

I currently use a low-profile clicky keyboard, and it is definitely quieter than a full size blue switch keyboard. It still retains that satisfying click, but there is less thunk from the bottoming out of the keys. Sounds very 'airy'. The feel of typing on them is somewhere between a laptop keyboard and a full size blue keyboard. Very fast and light, but with that solid mechanical feedback. Absolutely recommend giving one a try.
I'm someone else that's also looking. Do you know of any Brown Switch low profile keyboards. I've found one I like but it uses Blue switches. Kind of a shame they don't offer brown switches, it seems the brand they are using does have them just they aren't offering it.

I've got AKG headphones and a Blue Snowball mic for sound stuff.
I'd die without my Roccat Nyth MMO mouse <3
And I have this low profile mech keyboard that I'm in love with too.
