FWIW, these are the kinds of vomit bags you'll find in a hospital. You twist and clip when done to close it up. Cupping your hand around/under the top rim of these things is, IME, far superior to holding the edges of a ziploc open.
I highly recommend purchasing some emesis bags. They saved my life during pregnancy. I kept them in my purse, the car, and every single room in the house (plus one in the shower stall). Perfect for when you're exploding out both ends.
These were really sturdy: Medline Emesis Bags, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00839SNUE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_Gdp0BbXZAP47V
The plastic O-ring can be ripped off when you're done heaving so that you can tie off the bag. Good luck, mama!
You're welcome

These are the barf bags used in hospitals. I really recommend these!
These emesis bags are AMAZING. They are long/deep so there is no splash back, have a rigid mouth for easy one handed use (no struggling to keep a Ziploc bag open while driving and fighting the terrible urge to vomit on everything), are fairly compact, and twist and 'clip into' a notch on the rigid mouth so when you are done you can close off the bag and not have to look at and smell your ouke until you have a chance to toss it.
I was puking until delivery and this is what made it not ruin my life completely (these and Diclegis). I kept a few in every car and in my purse and various places around the house.
For the peeing I have no easy solution other than what I did- just always keep a towel in the car to frantically stuff under you when you feel that pukey urge coming :P
I hope you feel better soon!

These.
I highly recommend getting actual barf bags. I like these ones from Amazon. I keep one in my purse, one tucked in the side of my seat in the car, and the rest by my bed. They're so much more pleasant to barf in.
Do not skimp on bags. You will need them someday and $10 gets you enough bags to cover a hundred hours of missed surge times. A $150 cleaning fee is nothing when it keeps you from driving during the weekend traffic or pre-game rushes. I have only gone through 5 of these in 18 months but the one passenger whose aim was off proved their value

Yesss...I didn't have HG, thankfully but I threw up every day until I delivered..Anytime we went to eat anywhere I threw up, in the car I threw up. Next time I'm ordering these to have on hand everywhere lol. but for some reason I was always in a good mood. My husband jokes that I should get pregnant again because I was so happy lol.
I had Marginal Cord Insertion, so the umbilical cord was attached to the placenta in the wrong place. I didn't have a bad case, but it was risky. The umbilical cord can detach for whatever reason, you could have poor fetal growth, all sorts of complications. BUT..we made it 41 weeks amazingly. Between that and being in the third trimester during flu season I was so paranoid! So much can go wrong. I don't think I've ever experienced vulnerability like that, its terrifying.
I have every passenger a barf bag that looks somewhat off. Those cleaning fees aren't worth it.

My 3 year old likes to put them on his arms and pretend he is a robot.

She gets in them pretty well now but she loses consciousness when she has the episodes so it isn’t always catchable.
I was pretty excited when she threw up in the toilet all by herself for the first time.

Soft bags require fine motor skills to operate. Try using your barf bag while wearing oven mitts – that's exactly how low motor skills of an average drunk are.
Get the ones /u/UberDuperDrew suggested, or the ones I use. Hard entry ring is the key here. I keep mine unfolded and ready to go within my reach, so I can hand it to the pax in less than one second. So far (knock on wood) haven't missed a single drop. All my cleanups are food, drinks and dirt, not the vomit.
i got 30 for around $12 from amazon. they are blue and i have been told they are like the ones they have in hospital.
so far none of my Uber passengers used one but one of my friend passengers did and it was fortunatei had it because there was very littlewarning and it would have been a mess.

It is a hand wheel chair, plenty of room under the chair for bags.
A friend was with me the other day, and was asking "what is with all the blue bags" stuffed in the door pockets. Oh never know when they will come in handy.

Absolutely worth the investment. Have on hand and then let them keep it as a momento of the night.
I keep one of these in the console. I've had to give it out once in 300 rides. And I work bar nights.

Good deal considering the alternative.
