Freesync shouldn't have an extra cost. What monitors are you looking at?

Edit: Just looked into it, the 1080p price range seems to be the same prize:

Monitor 1

Monitor 2

While theres a huge gap in price on 1440p models...

I know the Freesync units cost less, but from the models I've seen online where it looks like one OEM is offering the same panel in both versions, the difference in cost is not close to that wide.

For example, the Acer XF240H and Acer XB240H. As far as I can tell, they use the same panel.

XB240H ~$275

XF240H ~$240

Both of those monitor sold via Amazon.

Assuming you are on about this one then it is only 60hz sadly. I've been looking recently and the cheapest I found is this monitor.

I am in a similar situation: looking to upgrade from 24" 60Hz to 24" 144Hz. I currently have a GTX 1060 (6gb) installed with my old 2600k(4.5Ghz). (I don't mind dropping all my graphical settings to get max FPS)

I think the important thing is to make sure you can get your FPS up high enough to ensure you are getting the best out of the 144Hz refresh rate monitors. There will be very little point of upgrading from 60Hz to 144Hz if all your graphics card can output is 60fps.

I am looking at the Acer XB240H (£180) which seems to to be cheapest 1080p 144hz I can find in the UK and I don't mind that the colours may look a bit washed out.

Also, I think the only problem you may have with the 23.6" monitor is the resolution scaling, like it may not be a complete 1080x1920...

The Lg is currently discontinued so it is quite hard to find. http://www.lg.com/uk/monitors/lg-24GM77-B

The BenQ XL2420z is also very hard to find in the UK. Unless you are willing to pay £100 more than its usual price.

What do u think of the BenQ XL2430T?

Also the acer acer XB240H seems promising. But i have heard so little about it.
