Should be able to just fine. Just keep in mind your audio needs another route, probable through the 3.5mm jack. Something like this adapter ought to do it.
No, but these will work.
It looks like they have now have one with mini-HDMI for the Pi Zero, and audio out.
Yep! I use this one myself.
Well, it's not your only option.
Just search on Amazon for DVI-D to VGA or HDMI to VGA or DisplayPort to VGA and pick the once that you like the look of.
These are not bidirectional, so don't go for VGA to HDMI, VGA to DVI or VGA to DisplayPort. You want it to go to VGA.
The converter is built in but doesn't have a spot where you can plug in to power it. Here's the link to the product https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SW9JI9A?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
You'll probably have to get something like this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SW9JI9A/
No, i am using something like this (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SW9JI9A/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1).
HDMI to VGA cable
Or one of these and a VGA cable https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00SW9JI9A/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1511772719&sr=8-1-spons&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=hdmi+to+vga&psc=1
This is the part i'm wondering about...I have an item in hand...a simple hdmi to vga active adapter....then I bought this
Would there be a software setting to adjust to use the first without the need for the second item?
I have sevaral pi's I could use if so.
Get something like this if you have to have VGA: http://www.amazon.com/Moread-HDMI-Adapter-Male-Female/dp/B00SW9JI9A/ref=sr_1_7?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1452015855&sr=1-7&keywords=hdmi+to+vga
Adapters are so cheap that you shouldn't buy a vastly inferior card just because it has a built in VGA port.
I bought this one. Works great. It is active so it only does HDMI to VGA and not visa versa.
I think I might have found the problem. The drivers are installed and it's detected by the pc but when I go into bios and set the main gpu to be PCIe it won't show anything. And I think it's cause of the cables :
I have 3 VGA monitor's and I used this https://www.amazon.com/Female-Single-Adapter-Graphic-Durable/dp/B01ID0RUMY/ref=sr_1_17?ie=UTF8&qid=1482096115&sr=8-17&keywords=dvi-d+to+vga+adapter
After some time I found people online saying it's cause I need special cables like HDMI to VGA
(Something like this )

I just want to know if this is true before I buy it.
Use a vga to hdmi adapter. That’s what I have, and it’s never given me trouble. Here’s the one I bought: https://www.amazon.com/Moread-Gold-Plated-Projector-Chromebook-Raspberry/dp/B00SW9JI9A?ref_=Oct_CABSellerC_14570285011_1&pf_rd_p=184d9a23-a934-58e8-8f2a-ba04a44592e5&pf_rd_s=mobile-hybrid-6&pf_rd_t=30901&pf_rd_i=14570285011&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=K3QQ8X17YZRJ9BPH6HH3&pf_rd_r=K3QQ8X17YZRJ9BPH6HH3&pf_rd_p=184d9a23-a934-58e8-8f2a-ba04a44592e5
This adapter is similar to the one I have to prove it.

you need a hdmi to vga converter, this would work: https://www.amazon.com/Moread-Gold-Plated-HDMI-Adapter-Female/dp/B00SW9JI9A/ref=sr_1_10?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1488132155&sr=1-10&keywords=hdmi+vga

oh my how will they ever overcome this problem?
https://www.amazon.com/Moread-Gold-Plated-Projector-Chromebook-Raspberry/dp/B00SW9JI9A/
First of all, in order to enable GPU acceleration, windows needs to think there's a monitor attached to the video card, so you may need a dongle like this one.
You can also use an hdmi -> vga adaptor like this or anything else that fools the operating system into thinking there's a monitor attached, unless you want to plug in a real monitor, but since your final goal is to use the VM through remote access, I don't think that would be ideal.
I do this to play games with steam in-home streaming server running in a VM(also have virtual mouse/keyboard attached or windows 10 won't show cursor pointer) and works great.
While steam in home streaming is not ideal for remote desktop access, there are some alternatives that can work, such as turbovnc which apparently was designed for running 3d applications remotely(haven't tried though)
Are you sure you're using an actual powered VGA to HDMI converter? Or is it just a cable/adapter with HDMI on one end and VGA on the other? VGA>HDMI requires a powered converter to actually convert the analog signal into a digital one.
Edit:Something like this or this won't work. You need an actual converter such as this.
This has good reviews: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SW9JI9A/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_s-uDDbM3QJVRC
Your old DVI adapter won't work since it needs a DVI-I port and new cards use DVI-D(if they even have a DVI port)
a slightl cheaper option would be

and
https://www.amazon.com/Moread-Gold-Plated-Projector-Chromebook-Raspberry/dp/B00SW9JI9A/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?keywords=hdmi+to+vga&qid=1567983145&s=gateway&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEzSUU0V1Q2T1lRQzQ3JmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNTQ3MjQ4M1VPUlhDSE5EVzgyNyZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwNDQxNDE4M0s5VEY3M1Q0SDRWTSZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX3Bob25lX3NlYXJjaF9hdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl
This gives you 3 hdmi connections at the same time. Using an hdmi to vga adapter will give you an vga connection.
I've got one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Moread-Gold-Plated-Projector-Chromebook-Raspberry/dp/B00SW9JI9A/ref=sr_1_4?crid=2GXB3IBFCZVG6&keywords=vga+to+hdmi&qid=1568129649&s=gateway&sprefix=vga+to+%2Caps%2C228&sr=8-4 and it works just fine. Used it on a GTX 970 and Radeon R9 390.
If you like things to look a bit cleaner, you can also try a cable that has everything built in: https://www.amazon.com/Gold-Plated-Compatible-Projector-Chromebook-Raspberry/dp/B07CTK4TH4/ref=pd_cp_23_1?pd_rd_w=ZVBWx&pf_rd_p=ef4dc990-a9ca-4945-ae0b-f8d549198ed6&pf_rd_r=R07Q2H8YR3VYXG6W7DHR&pd_rd_r=6d2f5014-8e50-48b8-9a67-dabfdd91416e&pd_rd_wg=Z0BrY&pd_rd_i=B07CTK4TH4&psc=1&refRID=R07Q2H8YR3VYXG6W7DHR
I didn’t buy it from here, but it looks just like this one
> The PS Classic likely doesn't have any analog video support
True.
> so an HDMI to VGA adapter won't work.
False. These guys are designed to take a digital HDMI signal and output with all the correct timings and analog signal format for a VGA display.

something like this?
I would say you should go for the HP Pavilion Power and get a hdmi to vga adapter
It has both an SSD and a HDD so your critical programs and OS can be on the SSD while videos, photes etc can go on the HDD. It has the specs to be a strong and future proof system that will not be dated any time soon
This looks pretty good, but you could change out the NVMe and HDD options here. Samsung seems to have a strong grip on the SSD/NVMe market, but other sellers are okay too, just consider what you'll be using the drive for and compare with V-NAND, 3D NAND or QLC, TLC options; it's likely if you're just going with gaming that you can use a cheaper larger capacity NVMe drive, or change your HDD to an SSD, e.g. crucial Mx; you'll see improvements in performance loading times with an SSD over an HDD, and movies and other media will load faster as well especially if streaming over a plex server or something like that.
you can definitely use your old monitor, just need an adapter like this: https://www.amazon.com/Moread-Gold-Plated-Projector-Chromebook-Raspberry/dp/B00SW9JI9A/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=HDMI+to+VGA+adapter&qid=1565136255&s=electronics&sr=1-3
DVI to VGA adapters have not worked for me from both of my graphics cards. However, a cheap HDMI to VGA like this one has worked for me in the past. I can't vouch for that particular adapter though.
There are HDMI to VGA adaptors.

If the laptop has display port or mini display port there are adaptors for those connections as well.
