Did you know Amazon will donate a portion of every purchase if you shop by going to smile.amazon.com instead? Over $50,000,000 has been raised for charity - all you need to do is change the URL!

Here are your smile-ified links:

It does seem to be surprisingly common in Germany: http://www.amazon.de/product-reviews/B00ZPEAFXI/ref=cm_cr_dp_hist_one?ie=UTF8&filterBy=addOneStar&showViewpoints=0

>Originalverpackung war korrekt. Der darin enthaltene Artikel war statt eine GTX 980ti eine GTX 960.
Vorsicht beim Kauf, da sich dieses Problem anscheinend zu wiederholen scheint.

GTX 960 in the box.

>Als das Paket kam habe ich mich riesig gefreut umso größer war die Enttäuschung, das die Grafikkarte nicht drin war die ich eigentlich bestellt hatte, es war der Orginalkarton der MSI GTX 980 ti aber darin war eine AMD Grafikkarte enthalten R9 300series.

R9 300 series in the box.

That PSU is an excellent one, nothing to comment on really, if it is in your price range.

As to the mobo, there is a choice to be made at this point. Do you really intend to sli down the road or not? because this feature bumps your MOBO's price up subsancially. In terms of power requirements, you have enough power with that PSU to go SLI. You should be pulling approx 550-600W with no overclock in SLI, so you still have some overhead. However, there are (many) disadvantages to going SLI. Between compatibility/driver problems, frame-skipping and whatnot, i would not go down that route. this article :
http://www.extremetech.com/gaming/154089-after-almost-20-years-gpu-benchmarking-is-moving-past-frames-per-second
can illustrate some of the problems that you might encounter. Also, i might question the economic viability of going sli, but that is another debate.

If I were you (which i am not) i would opt for something like this

far cheaper, reputable brand, (no SLI)

same brand same tier, still plenty of overhead power but wont be enough to SLI, cheaper

-pool the money you saved on these two to go for a 980 TI (massive improvement over the 980-cant stess enough how much money you are losing by going straight 980)

You're not worth the time. And yet I'll give it to you.

> Lol if you could take your time to actually read the post you would understand that he lives in UK. 1000 pounds is a lot. 980 Ti's are 400-430. a big LOL at you silly

1000 pounds is ~$1500

Yes it's worth more. Some might say a lot.

He might be able to swap the 970 for a 980 Ti. That's up to him.

> also your build sucks shit

You know nothing about computers. XD

The 980ti can be found for ~$300 if you check /r/buildapcsales from time to time (I've seen as low as $250). Might have slightly worse VR performance though. And for hackintosh it depends on the motherboard for needing to switch the BIOS every time. Check guides for your motherboard and the integrated graphics and see what settings they need.

Edit:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00ZPEAFXI/ref=sr_1_5_olp?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1478242669&sr=1-5&keywords=980ti&condition=used

Basically new (only opened packaging) for ~$330 is a decent deal just looking at what I see right now. About the same going rate as 1070s.

Yeah alright, curious though, THIS one is on a huge sale (-230 Pounds) better? worse?

u/MisterSentinel · 1 pointr/buildapc

btw, I don't get the 980 ti.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-GTX-980TI-Gaming-Graphics/dp/B00ZPEAFXI/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1466703317&sr=1-1&keywords=980+ti

the card is priced higher than a gtx 1070 even when the 1070 isn't selling at retail price because low stock, high demand (classic nvidia BS), and yet the gtx 1070 outperforms a titan x... so... logic much confuse me.

thanks, i wanted to go for the 1070 but it is pricey at about £450, i guess i can just rob a bank
