I'm pretty sure I've seen the NMS PEGI rating of 7 on Amazon or elsewhere, despite the ESRB rating still pending.

Interacting with the community is exactly what Sean has said in multiple recent interviews, in order to help determine what they should work on next for the game. I think the only post release support that could cause the game to be anywhere near as big as Minecraft would be mods though.
