What kind of work?
I pieced mine together with these:
Greenlee 0258-14

Occidental 5520 5 tool holder

And the occidental 3 inch belt.
I work in lived in houses, this setup is low profile(for working in rooms with too much furniture) and balanced (so you're not lopsided all day. There's also room for expansion if you want to add a pouch for screws & nuts. The only thing I'm not a huge fan of is how high the occidental 5520 sits. Full size pouches hang down on your thigh, but the 5520 doesn't. It sits right at belt level. When you have a rock saw in the protected slot it sticks up to about the bottom of your ribs and is a little awkward to grab until you get used to it.
Don’t buy any PPE (personal protect equipment) as the company should provide, would be a waste of money. As an electrician, not a lines man, and working side by side them, I would say a nice small leather tool holder to put on his belt clip. Most linesmen get their tools provided.
