I dont understand why you are avoiding LED. I just installed these Heavy Duty 80W CREE LED Light Bulb BMW Angel Eyes DRL Marker Light True White 7000K E90-LCI E91-LCI (pack of 2) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0763SR5FM in my e90 LCI halogen headlights. They are much brighter than stock halogens or any other LEDs that I have tried on my angel eyes and look fantastic.

These LED headlights very closely match a halogen filament source due to their design, so unlike other LED headlight bulbs, they aren't scattering light everywhere and blinding people if you have reflectors. It looks just like a halogen bulb, just brighter and whiter. I did have to code out the voltage check on the headlights so that they wouldn't flicker at start up, and clipping them on with the H7 retaining clips was a task easier done with the headlights removed, but other than that, I am very pleased.
