A few things to note for any PC you're going to be developing with:
In terms of the OS, Windows will do everything you need unless you're doing mobile app development. Otherwise any PC will be a good idea:
Some things to consider for a laptop:
Keep in mind that besides that you'll probably want something durable. Apple machines tend to be built well. Enough said. But for the PC realm I'd take a look at the following product lines:
Otherwise any other "flagship" laptop is good, and look around to see about any deals. Also I named particularly mainstream laptops that can have powerful processors & fast storage, but if you planned on a gaming laptop then naturally look into other lineups that have better cooling + more powerful graphics.
> 120 GB is nothing and will be filled by like 4 games. Most people have 500 GB or 1TB consoles. At least be intellectually honest.
$14.99
Perfect, they can put their HDD’s into an enclosure and save all their stuff, and run MHW from the SSD. Capcom can’t optimize the game to run as fast as it does on an SSD on an HDD. So if you really care about the load times, you should buy an SSD. That’s what I did at least and 120GB is way more than you need. Also if you scroll through the storage sizes theres a 480GB $150 CAD which is still no where close to $500 so at least do some research before you throw out sensationalist numbers to try and make your case. Idk why you would buy a 1TB SSD it’s a huge waste of money, especially the Samsung 850 Evo, unless you’re building a PC. But even my gaming PC with a 1070 uses a 250GB SSD to run the OS and a select few games and a 1TB HDD for everything else.
> Which is the logical and obvious endgame as developed by Capcom. Everything else you described is possible during the story phase of the game, which falls outside of the bounds you set. In regards to the rest of your post, World is a huge step down in terms of content compared to past games. Doesn't matter what other series offer because this is not from those companies or franchises.
How is that the logical end game? There are still T2 investigations for Decorations and if you want to make new weapons/armour they require you to go back and slay/capture all kinds of monsters from Low Rank to High Rank. There’s also unlocking the event armour and weapons, completing the Canteen ingredients and then just enjoying fighting monsters.
Not sure why some people absolutely need game developers to spoon feed them content and tell them how to play the game. What happened to just sitting down and having fun messing around with a videogame? Everyone needs more, more, more. Just because you don’t like to hunt endemic life or just sit there and fish doesn’t mean the end game lacks content. It means you just don’t like the game. You can always play another game. Cheers.
I got a 120gb Kingston for $28 Canadian back in February on Amazon. You'll probably have to wait for sales, but it shouldn't be too hard. Especially with black friday/cyber Monday coming up. I've seen the same drive I got for $19.99 CAD a couple times since, too.
Keep an eye on /r/buildapcsales
This is the one I got. The regular price is now $30 CAD: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01N6JQS8C/
This is the enclosure if interested: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00IWOZAAQ/
While I am sure there are others out there, I am just recommending this one since I have purchased from them before and can vouch for their customer service quality.
Could also check Amazon as they have pretty consumer protective return policies.
Edit -
And something like this is what I mean when I say move the 1TB HDD to a portable enclosure. Let's you buy a reasonable sized SSD (256gb) and not feel like you need to go big with a 512/1TB SSD since you can still get your storage on the portable drive.

something like this
although like /u/Schmidtster1 said, that depends on the physical size of your hard drive (2.5 or 3.5 inch)
I ended up getting:
Samsung 860 EVO 2.5" SATA III 500GB Internal SSD (MZ-76E500B/AM) https://www.amazon.ca/Samsung-500GB-Internal-MZ-76E500B-AM/dp/B0781Z7Y3S/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1525567267&sr=1-3&keywords=SSD+evo+860
With enclosure:

Just like the guy who posted his setup before me, I 10/10 recommend. Its actually insane how much of difference it makes
Any particular enclosure I should be looking at? I suppose it makes a difference? I see some for $15 like this: ORICO 2588US3 Tool Free Screw-Less USB 3.0 2.5-inch External Hard Drive Enclosure Adapter Case for HDD SSD SATA Drive - Black https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00IWOZAAQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_YLfRzbZ3RES9N
your hard disk is probably fine just take it out and get one of these:

Thank you! Would something like this suffice? https://www.amazon.ca/ORICO-2588US3-Screw-Less-2-5-inch-Enclosure/dp/B00IWOZAAQ/ref=sr_1_12?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1519615065&sr=1-12&keywords=external+hard+drive
