$150 Plantronics BackBeat PRO

I've had these for 15 months, carrying them to/from work daily, and absolutely love them. They cancel almost all noise, the battery lasts several days, they pair easily, and they don't cost $350.

I got the Plantronics Backbeat Pro and felt that they were my purchase of the year. http://www.amazon.com/Plantronics-BackBeat-Wireless-Canceling-Headphones/dp/B00MBWIL0G
MSRP is $250 but you can often find them on amazon for $165.

They rock on airplanes -- cuts out the noise real well. The li-ion rechargeable batteries last forever.

WIRELESS! But you can also plug them in when they run low (which has never happened to me.

Very soft and high quality build.

Oh... and I love that it can store pairing for multiple devices. I've done up to two. It's not annoying like other bluetooth devices where you have to re-pair each time you switch from phone to computer, etc. These just always work as soon as you turn them on.

It comes with this really nice soft case that I just want to rub my face against, but I go out with them in this case, which is a bit harder and gives me enough protection to chuck them in my bag or wherever http://www.amazon.com/Headphone-Carrying-Protection-Sennheiser-Ballistic/dp/B009EEGVY2/ref=pd_bxgy_107_img_2
It's a perfect fit.

I see that there's now a Backbeat Pro+ version for a little more. I love these so much but I just might upgrade and give these to a loved one.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MBWIL0G/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I have a pair of those, honestly I think they're fantastic. Pretty high ratings across the board from most people too.

I picked up a set of Plantronics BackBeat Pros. They are great! Super comfy, battery lasts forever, great balanced sound, and the noise canceling is spot on!

The QCY Q11s are a solid pair of bluetooth earbuds for cheap. They support aptX and the ear hooks are nice if you plan to use them to work out.

If you prefer wired earbuds, I've heard good things about the Xiaomi Piston earbuds and I've owned the Klipsch S4As. The S4As sound great, but I've had four pairs of S4s (S4i, S4A, S4i II, and S4A II) and they all broke on me fairly quickly.

If you are looking for full-size headphones, there are of course the usual culprits (Beats, Bose), but for some lesser-known alternatives, the Plantronics BackBeat PROs are very good (but very large) and they just released the BackBeat PRO 2s, which are supposed to be more streamlined (but the design may not be for everyone.) I've also heard very good things about the Avantree Audition Pro and Jabra Move headphones (the Moves are good if you like on-ear headphones.)

Plantronics Backbeat Pro. Can't say enough good things about these headphones, and they are within your $200 budget. It's my favorite pair I've ever owned.

I've been going through this myself recently. I purchased a pair of Plantronics Backbeat Pros (v1) around 3 weeks ago, and I really enjoyed them, paid around $150. I ended up giving them to my gf because she needed a pair for a trip, and I was so pleased with my experience, I thought about upgrading to a newer model. For what it's worth, the PLT Backbeat Pros are on sale right now for $110 (Amazon link), which seems like a great deal!

It took me a while, but I found a pair of PLT Backbeat Pro 2s on the PLT website, and I've had them about a week. I don't like them as much as the original version. They aren't really sold anywhere online except the PLT website, so maybe other people didn't like them either.

Right now, I'm researching the Bose QC 35s, Sony MDR-1000X, and Sennheiser PXC-550. I tried the first two at a store, and they were a better experience than my current PLT Backbeat Pro 2s, but I'm not sure they were $150-200 better. Definitely not worth the price difference versus the original Backbeat Pros. But I'm still researching. I'd really like to try out the PXC 550s, but I haven't seen them in a store anywhere for demo.

Edit: Agh, submitted too soon on accident.
Bonus Edit: It looks like the MDR-1000X got discounted by $50 on Amazon($350, previously $400). I don't think it's a Cyber Monday thing, I think they realized that they had to match the QC35 price.

Get them some over ear headphones with noise cancellation. It's wonderful for everybody.

I use these

If you want active noise cancellation your budget is a bit tight. Maybe the Plantronics Backbeat Pro.

These were the best noise-cancelling headphones I found for the price and they are worth every penny.

I bought them on Amazon.ca:

https://www.amazon.ca/Plantronics-BackBeat-Wireless-Canceling-Headphones/dp/B00MBWIL0G

Originally purchased for a 3 month backpacking trip to Europe (a LOT of train travel). I wanted something that had Bluetooth audio/calling, active noise cancelling, the ability to also use a 3.5mm cable, etc. These headphones are seriously one of my best purchases. Worth every penny of the $250CAD I paid.

They have an INSANE battery life. I'm talking 20+ hours of continuous listening or phone calls over BT. If you use a cable, you can actually use them when they're dead (without ANC of course).
They play/pause your media when you remove them from your head (and switches your phone back to it's on-board mic and speaker when on a call).

The ANC is not stellar but it is more than good enough to drown out the jet engines on a plane or background office noise.

Overall a great set of headphones that I would recommend to anyone. I can't say enough about these, although I'm not an audiophile. Here are some user reviews of them:

It's also worth nothing that they have the Backbeat Pro 2 now ($199 US)

Edit: Added Pro 2 info

I have a Pixel 2 XL and have no issues with Bluetooth. My car is a 2013 Honda with HandsFreeLink. Very, very rarely Bluetooth will act up with the car and refuse to connect and I'll have to reboot the phone or toggle Bluetooth (off / on) on the phone. That happens maybe once every 4 months. I use my phone via Bluetooth every day on my car, two headsets, and a [speaker] (https://www.amazon.com/JBL-Portable-Wireless-Speaker-Black/dp/B00GAJ2OK4/) and don't have any issues. Admittedly, the car is the only Bluetooth devices that exhibits that issue. Before the 2XL I had a Nexus 4, Nexus 6, and Nexus 6p and also didn't have any issues with those either (except the for the car issue mentioned above).

Hello,

I am looking for some headphones to use at home with my PC. My PC is in the same room as the TV so there are often children in the same room looking at TV/talking/playing/laughing. If I'm listening to music I can just turn up the volume until I can't hear anything else. The problem is that I often like to listen to podcasts, interviews, streams and such where people talk in a normal voice and there are quite gaps when the outside noise really sinks in.

I have read that noise cancelling headphones work best for constant humming noises and such, but as I have explained thats not really my problem. As i understand noise isolating is better for my situations but so far I have only seen in noise isolating in ear buds and I dont really like these. For home use they have to be over the ear type for me.

So my question is will noise-cancelling headphones help me out at all?

Also my budget isnt really high. Ideally about $200. Max $300.

At the moment i have been looking at these: https://www.amazon.com/Plantronics-BackBeat-Wireless-Canceling-Headphones/dp/B00MBWIL0G?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage
Some reviews are really good and say that these almost eliminate the outside chatter, for example: - The sound cancellation is good. I have yet to try it in a noisy environment like a flight, so I can't say how it will be there. But at the office, it's enough to not hear the conversations happening around me. True, they are not completely 100% muted, but makes them low enough to the point where I can't make it out what is being said so it doesn't distract me from my work.

Then again, another review says: -They are awful at canceling noise. I rarely use them if I am in the same room as a TV/Music/Conversation because I can hardly hear what is playing through the headphones over the background noise.

So yeah... I dont really know what to belive... help me out guys :D

This is the one I have, a bit expensive but worth it, excellent battery life with loads of features, though it's meant for indoor use because if it's size.
