Since these radios are 12V, you will either need a power supply or 12V car battery to operate. I'd recommend a 5A power supply, that way you can use it with wall power.

Remember too that when you go to set up the antenna, it requires a "ground plane". Being as how it won't be mounted to the steel body of a vehicle, something as simple as a steel garbage can lid or metal roof will suffice for a proper ground plane. Get it as high up as possible and make those contacts!

I read 11 to 16v.... regardless you need a constant 12 volt dc source. Make sure the red and yellow are hooked to power and black to ground.
