It was very cheap set of Sades. sades
You can see how the mic tucks up into the ear piece. I purchased their keyboard also. Its built on this thick piece of metal. I dont know how they are doing this stuff so cheap.
I bought this one recently. No rAgrets. I don't know how it stacks up to something $100+ but I seems perfectly fine to me.

I'd grab a cheap combo personally I think my headset was about $13 and never had a complaint of my audio sounding bad, plus you get the switches on the cable volume up down mute and mute your mic.

This is almost the same as what I have but maybe a slightly upgraded version. For strictly gaming it will be more then the average player will need. In pubg I can clearly tell where a sound is coming from and they sound decent on music.

If you don't mind a cord and want a very affordable headset that sounds great, these are legit. Not even kidding. I didn't believe it when a friend told me about them, but for the money I figured I'd try. He was right, as was the friend that told him about them.
^ This. Best way to go is headphone and mic separate combo. Even high-end gaming headsets have mediocre microphone quality.
If you truly need one at that pricepoint, i'd suggest this pair that has pretty superb reviews on amazon for $26

Last few things are fairly irrelevant since I'm not picky at all.
So I've started playing video games again and I really need a new mic. I was planning on just buying a gaming headset since there's a good amount of them for around ~$30 but I know it's better to buy headphones + a separate mic. My main issue is, I'm not really that concerned with a great quality. Can I even realistically get a mic + headphones for ~$30-40 that will be significantly better than just a headset with a similar price? Obviously if my budget was higher I could understand that there's a huge difference because most headsets are all marketing, but at this level I'm unsure. I'm currently looking at these two headsets:

I realize they're probably terrible by this sub's standards, but I've literally been using $10 earbuds for over a year for my computer, as I'm not an audiophile by any means.
I looked at the buying guide and there aren't many options for under $50, which is outside of my budget anyway, and that doesn't even cover the cost of the mic as well.
