i used this one so it had a low profile, and works great. just make sure you get the USB 2.0 version so it uses lower power consumption.

I've had the same issue (but I'm using BleemSync). I got one of these right-angle adapters and it works with an old 8gb USB 2.0 drive, but not with my low profile Sandisk Cruzer (64gb). I even reinstalled BleemSync and the kernel. Ordered a new OTG adapter and waiting for it to arrive.

Edit: After some last-ditch efforts, I've found my OTG adapter works but your drive must be formatted to Fat32. /u/DistNZ give that a try, hopefully it works for you too (I used a program called guiformat to do so).

Edit 2: After installing all my RetroArch files (something like 40,000+ files) it is back to not working with OTG. Back to square 1.

Edit 3: It appears to be related to my power supply & cable. Specific cables and power supplies work while others don't. A 5.25V 3A power supply I use for a Raspberry Pi does not work, while an iPhone charger does.

There's a thread of compatible USB drives. I think most 32GB and under work, it's just a matter of speed. If you have to buy one, look for this: Sandisk 64GB Cruzer Fit USB Flash... https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07MDXBTL1?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

It's worked like a charm for over two months now

This is the one I use: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MDXBTL1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Took me less than 5 minutes to get stup. I also added a USB 2.0 hub so I have plenty of charging.

Works flawlessly using bleemsync without a hub but keep it formatted in fat32. Mine is almost 100% full and every game is working.

Thanks. I think I might try sending the drive back and getting another instead.

Is this the Samsung drive you're referring to? It's a little big though... do you know of any other compact/smaller ones that might be good?

I would love something like this (i.e., as small as possible). But this one is USB 2.0 (and I don't know if it'd be compatible or if it'd have any overheating issues).

On another note, if I got a new USB stick, would it be possible to copy the contents of the old one onto the new one? I spent a couple days setting everything up on the SanDisk Ultra Fit and would love to not have to do that again... I realize it's not as simple as copy and paste, so wondering how I might be able to do it?

And get a "fit" USB memory stick to keep in the USB port.

In my case (and I guess it depends on the OTG adapter - this one is mine), but I had to plug in the OTG cord into the back, then immediately plug in the USB drive. I noticed when I plugged the USB drive into the OTG that the light would come on before I even had plugged it into the Classic, which made me think that it wasn't recognized properly among startup.

I guess you could also plug the USB drive into the OTG, plug the OTG into the Classic, then plug the power cord into the OTG.

However before that just to double-check I had reinstalled the custom kernel and I also reinstalled the USB payload file from this comment. Just in case it might be one of those two. I didn't bother reinstalling Bleemsync since I had stupidly already put all my games on it, and was too lazy to reformat it.

It took me like 5 hours last night to figure this out, that's how I got all of this information lol
