The quality of painter's tape makes a difference with the edge you'll get. Scotch painter's tape with Edgelock has always worked for me. For curves, 1/8" fine line tape is quality stuff.
Krylon SuperMAXX is my favorite spray paint. Has the best finish that I've found. And like others said, don't rush the painting process and do it in good weather. It will show if you do it in high humidity or extreme temps.
