I have this one and love it.
However it's not USB. I've heard great things about the U320 as well.
If you want great sound quality paired with a great microphone, Sennheiser is awesome. I sound like a shill but I just really love their products and I've had that headset for almost 5 years with no issues. They're definitely on the pricey side but a good gaming headset is worth the investment in my opinion.

Regardless, a $60 pair of Sennheiser headphones and a $15 mic from Amazon will net you much better sound for both ends than a headset can.
Link for lazy.
Get Sennheiser U320 - it's connected via USB so your console recognizes it as well as your PC with plug-and-play. The quality of the sound is awesome and the microphone is pretty good too.
I used it with my PS3 a lot and was very happy with it. Now it's my night-time go-to gaming headset.

these are the ones i use, they are relatively cheap and reliable, but i wear them over a hat cause they are not the most comfortable for longer sessions :p
if you have more to spend and already have a microphone, i have a friend who uses these and they are GOD tier
Since we're talking good value, your best bet is a usb based set of headphones (assuming it's for a computer), for three reasons.
You can't go wrong with the sennheiser u320. Sennheiser has a sterling reputation for headphones, and I am using these headphones right now. They're fantastic. They also come with the cables you need if you want to switch to an analogue input (2.5mm or 3.5mm jack).
I have blue microphone. It's great.
OP could get a Sennheiser U 320 though since we are suggesting sennheiser headset anyway.
