Unless somebody has bolt cutters or a dremel they aren’t going to be able to get through the steel cable quickly. I take it out of my car when I’m at home. It’s on me unless I’m in a gun free zone. Pretty small window of opportunity to be stolen. If the car is stolen I’m SOL.

I bought one of these, and it works quite well. Enough room for my gun (Glock 43) and a spare mag. It has removable layers of foam to increase the depth of the storage area so I am able to store the gun in the holster so I don’t ever expose my trigger, even when storing my gun. The plastic/rubber exterior is nice too because it is super strong, but non-slip and if it does hit something, won’t cause as much damage as a metal exterior. I ran the cable around the bars that hold my trunk on my car making it secure and easily accessible for storage/removal.
Edit: They sell different size ones to fit different storage needs. The XL is just what I have.
