About 18 months ago I got one of these bamboo pillows , and at the risk of sounding like a commercial, it took my chronic nighttime neck pain away. I had tried so many pillows over the years and they didn’t help. I saw someone on here mention it and I was skeptical but it worked. Didn’t improve my migraines, but I slept a lot better. Whoever you are that recommended it- thank you!
I have a pillow just like this with the shredded memory foam, it might be this same one. I like it a lot. It was firmer than what I was used to but it's grown on me and maybe it is just what I needed since I haven't woken up with neck pain or a headache since.
Like you said it does get packed down and you have to re-fluff it. I find that just throwing it in the dryer for a quick tumble un-compresses it and makes it fluffy again, I do this maybe once a month.

It's a bit pricey at nearly $60 but I got one of these memory foam/bamboo pillows last year and it's pretty awesome.

To be honest, when it first arrived it was a little too thick but they have a zipper that lets you easily remove some of the shredded memory foam so you can get it to the size you want.
I use this one It's so damned comfy and it stays pretty cool (I don't flip my pillow to the cool side anymore)
