Simple solution and only a couple bucks to fix. Go to the passenger side on the low side line and look for the low pressure switch. Going to look something like this.

Take a paper clip and jumper the plug between the two prongs in the connector. Then turn your trucks ac on and see if the compressor stays running. If it does then replace that little switch. You dont need to recover the system to do it.
