SanDisk 256GB **High Endurance** MicroSD for $40:
I recommend pairing it with an SD card reader that is extended **away** from the USB port (due to well-documented heat issues):
Or, if you've got the $$$$ then just straight up get the External SSD from SanDisk:
No problem here’s the ones I got :

If you're okay with cutting up the case a bit, you could purchase this or something similar, make a hole above the USB ports on top of the case and slide this in. Now that you have your 3D printer you could model some sort of bracket that holds it in place that you glue to the inside of the PC on the inside face of the acrylic panel.
You could also use something even slimmer, like this SD card reader to 9 pin USB header. I don't think the site is legit but just use the picture as an example.
I went with this combo after suffering major issues. Seemless thus far

I don't have the case but I think there will be one USB3 and maybe one USB2 header needed by the case, and one USB3 and one USB2 needed by the optical reader (which has SD card reader on it, and you can buy a microSD to SDcard adapter for). Your motherboard has 2 internal USB3 headers and 2 USB2 ones, so you don't need the splitter. If you want to buy an SD/microSD card reader, buy an external one like this.
