I really like Anker products. I have a bunch of their cables and battery packs. Solid products.

What you are doing is dangerous, I strongly recommend you just throw that dongle away.

You CANNOT go from USB Type-C to any other type of port with a dongle. That is explicitly forbidden by the USB spec for good reason, as USB C can supply such high amounts of charge, converting blindly to other ports can cause fires.

The short answer to your problem, is you're going to need to buy a USB Type-C to mini/micro USB cable, and not a dongle. The cable will know it's only a mini/micro port and be incapable of charging at the full USB Type-C speeds, but it will charge your speaker properly.

The dongle you own is trying to trick the USB C cable into working with a different type of port, which is why it could be very dangerous because the USB cable itself doesn't know what type of charge to properly send.

If you want to use a dongle, you have to go the other direction, with micro/mini to USB C, which will then limit USB C to the slow charge speed that the cable can actually handle.

EDIT: Just to note, since your pictures are very vague. If that Samsung charger does not have a detachable cable, you'll also need a different charger, where the USB C cable is detachable.

Here are some suggestions to get you down to just a single charger and 1/2 cables:

There are definitely other USB-C to Lightning cables. $15 for Anker. Probably cheaper for other brands. And a $10 Apple tax?? Not that bad?? Why even pay any Apple tax at all? That's what I don't get. People are paying more for quality that is arguably worse than other reputable brands. I can understand paying more for better quality, but...

Edit: Anker 18w USB-C for $20

I've got one of these - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H6BQNGF/ - on the way. 18W just like the stock one, but with foldable prongs. Anker has a similar one ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GWNYC4W/ ), but I passed on that one because it's got a blue LED in it. Nothing against LEDs, but I've got enough light sources from all my gear and don't need yet another one.

I've used 3rd party chargers with quick charge 3.0 in the past and for the most part they have been rather decent (I personally use Aukey). But I've noticed as of recently the best thing for my phone was to just buy another Google pixel charger (I got mine from Best Buy) and then if you want to have a longer cable than the 3 ft one included, just buy a USB C to USB C cable (Aukey, JSAUX, and WGGE have the best reviews on Amazon as far as braided nylon cables go).

Edit: I apologise... I didn't read that you can't get the original charger in your country. Anker is a well known third party charger company and they sell a USB C wall adapter that you can use if in fact you do want to go the USB C to USB C route. Here's a link to it:

Long as it's portable-mode only you have a number of options. It's only when it's docked that it becomes nintendo-only charger for the safety option.

Here's a list of USB-C chargers by /u/queuebitt. What I personally use when in portable is:

  • Ravpower's 60W 5-Port USB-C Power Delivery Wall Charger
  • Google Pixel 2 18W Power Delivery Charger (this is a smaller one which fits in my switch case)

Note that both my options are a little more expensive than a normal nintendo charger because I got them for specific reasons. The Ravpower 5 port one charges other stuff at the same time, while the google pixel 2 one, as I'm in the UK and thus, have three prong chargers, can fold itself up small enough to not stick out.

You could just go for an Amazon charger like this one which is pretty cheap (portable only, remember), although I generally don't like chargers where you can't remove the cable. Maybe this one by Anker, 18w PowerPort which is USB-C and has power delivery. Not sure if it comes with a cable. I would probably have got the UK version of this, had the prongs been able to fold itself in. But alas. :D
