I bought a small one just for makeup!
This is the one I found on Amazon:

I didnt want a big light for the tank, a medium sized one seemed to do the trick.

Total cost was about $50 worth of materials with plenty leftover for more treatments:

  • Clairol Pure White 40 Creme Developer - Worked as the hydrogen peroxide for the retrobrite effect
  • Sous Vide machine - Cheapest one possible, allows you to have a constant temp, regardless of weather conditions outside
  • UV Light - Unsure if it was really necessary, but gave it a go under the idea that the UV from the sun helps in the process

Scrubbed all the dirt and grime off the console, and liberally applied the 40 Creme to the shell with a paint brush. Threw the console into a Ziploc Freezer bag, and submerged it in a tub of water in my garage. Set the Sous Vide machine to hold 135 F for 6 hours, and plugged the UV light into an aquarium timer to shut off after 6 hours.

Still lots of room for improvement, but still much easier than I originally imagined.

I have the same issue near the home button. This screen protector is just about a month old.

Now, I've heard some folks claim that the protector is not glass. This is not the case. I've actually cut myself trying to remove an old cracked protector. I can confirm very much that it is glass and a laminate component to absorb damage like a car's front windshield.

I guess I can keep dumping $10 for replacements as long as they'll replace it. If not, I kept the jigs and can use Chinese knockoffs. I also have a decent UV lamp, which does a better job than the 30 second timer on the provided lamp. BTW, you can buy the components individually on ebay and aliexpress. So it doesn't math out correctly why this kit should cost $50-60 per set.

Lets do the math in retail prices:
