You're looking at the newer LP2's not the original LP's. Not sure what the differences are but here's the ones I'm talking about.

The v-moda Crossfade LP headphones are probably the most durable headphones you can buy in that price range. Check them out here: http://www.amazon.com/Crossfade-Over-Ear-Noise-Isolating-Headphone-Phantom/dp/B003BYRGLI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1368991513&sr=8-1&keywords=v+moda

According to the manufacturer, they can withstand 70+ drops from 6 feet onto concrete. The headband can withstand being bent flat several times without breaking. All of their cables are covered with Kevlar (yes the stuff that stops bullets) and can withstand 1 million plus cable bends.

I actually have a combination of stuff. I didn't like that a lot of headsets are meant for gaming only, when I already have a nice pair of headphones for music. In total it will run between $135 and $155 but will give you a nice pair of music headphones as well.

Headphones: V-Moda Crossfade LPs for $99.99 which can often be found in Amazon Gold Box for $80

Vmoda Boom Mic Adapter - $29.98

Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter - $24.99

You guys will probably hate me for even asking, but do you think these cans will fare well after some break-in time? They seem comfortable and compact enough to carry them everywhere I go.

u/djdementia · 2 pointsr/Beatmatch

Yes, they are good for DJing with. If you can find someplace to try them out though it is always best to do that first to make sure they are comfortable for you.

The ATH-M50x are a good choice if you might want to produce music in the future too as they are suitable for studio use.

To me though I personally wouldn't recommend them. I think they fit in kind of a weird space in the market. There are other headphones that are cheaper that are as good if not better than the M50x. They also don't really offer anything over the other headphones such as cool styling, durability, or anything to justify the $50+ they charge over other 'best bang for the buck brands'.

Personally I'd consider:

  • $80 Sony MDR7506 an excellent professional headphone good for DJing or Studio use as well!
  • $99 Sennheiser HD280pro also excellent for studio or DJing. These ones block a more 'outside noise' which is good for DJing in a loud club, they are less comfortable though because they 'press on your head' to achieve that.
  • $170 V-MODA Crossfade LP offer a several premium features. They are very durable and designed to take a beating. They come with a premium case (seriously the case is probably worth $30+) which is great for gigs and are designed for high temp. and humidity environments. They are also very stylish if you want to get away from the generic look of the other two and offer custom 'skins' (shields) for different color options and looks. If you want a nicer headphone I'd go with this before the M50x.

It's not that the M50x are bad in any way though, I just think they should be priced in the $99-$120 price range compared to their competitors. if you find them on sale for $99 then definitely go for it.

I would recommend V-MODA headphones. One of their headphone lines is 100 dollars, very customizable, very nice looking, AWESOME sound, and very-very durable.

EDIT 1 (more details): The headphone cord is knitted Kevlar, the headphones, I believe, are tested by combat pilots, the customization is from the shield system that V-MODA uses. I'll update with a link after work.

Had these, very uncomfortable. Sent them to my niece. Most of the reviews are from hipsters who wear them around their necks to look cool.

Edit: I realize you're looking for comfortable headphones that also look good, I'm not an expert in headphones that look good.

How about these?

Or these?

Maybe these?

You can look through this guide and google the listed headphones which match your price range to see whether you'd like their looks. Closed cans are less comfortable but they're ideal when you don't want to disturb your coworkers.

Sorry for bad format. I was just wondering whether or not the V-MODA Crossfade LP are good. I just want some great sounding comfortable headphones.

Here's what I have: http://www.amazon.com/V-MODA-Crossfade-Over-Ear-Noise-Isolating-Headphone/dp/B003BYRGLI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1417854661&sr=8-2&keywords=v+moda+lp

Comfortable as hell, durable as hell, and a great sound. They have pretty heavy bass so intense audiophiles don't like the lack of neutrality, but it's never bothered me.

u/ClockworkLegacy · 1 pointr/BudgetAudiophile

Gonna suggest these for electronic music, sound great and are comfy as hell so long as your head isnt extra large.

u/ultimatnoob · 1 pointr/headphones

I'm no audiophile, but my work is paying for some decent headsets, and is giving me the choice of these 5:

Senheiser

aftershokz

Creative Labs

Turtle Beach

V-moda

I'm leaning to the Senheisers, as I had a cheap pair a while ago that were the best $30 headphones I ever had, but I don't have strong opinions about any of them.

Some people need a microphone, but thankfully my position doesn't require talking to people, so i would just use them to listen to music and drown out the noise of co-workers while I work.

>I have a very big head and ears, and most headphones give me extreme headaches because they clamp too much.

I was using the V-MODA Crossfade LP Over-Ear Noise-Isolating and I had the same problem like you, now I am using the Sony MDRHW700DS and I am very satisfied with them.

u/SkYrUaL125 · 1 pointr/PS4Planetside2

No problem! Just want people to have the best experience possible. If you do end up buying the M-80's, get the boom-pro mic. If you buy the LP series, which only costs around $5 more, then you can buy the XL earpads (another $20), which are godsend for those 4+ hour sessions.

I wan't to buy headphones at around 150$ to use with my computer. I am looking for a great sound quality and wan't a microphone with them when i'm playing. I don't want a headset since they are mostly advertisement and are way overprice for the actual quality of the product. While doing some looking i found these headphones which could come with a microphone separately. I was wondering if any of you guys have good experience with them or do you simply think i should go toward headset either way? Thanks all
