Your first link is the Mixtrack Pro II; basically the revised edition of the original Mixtrack Pro. An audio interface is included in the controller, so you won't need to purchase any external accessories to connect it to your computer, just the USB cable that's included.
Your second link is the Mixtrack II (NOT Pro); this is the same thing as above, but DOES NOT include an audio interface. You'll need to buy an audio interface like this in order to use it with your computer and DJ software.
The third link is the original Mixtrack Pro, which does have a built in audio interface.
You can't really go wrong with the Mixtrack Pro or Mixtrack Pro II, it mostly depends on whether you're willing to spend the extra money for some more buttons and improved design; there's not really anything you can do on one of them that you wouldn't be able to do on the other. I would recommend against the regular Mixtrack II though, just because it doesn't have built-in audio; you'll have to spend some extra money to buy an interface. I have yet to try to Mixtrack Pro II, but I have played around with the original model and can say that the Mixtrack Pro is a great beginner controller. Construction is plastic but still solid, and all the basics you would need are there.
Have you decided on any DJ software yet? The Mixtrack Pro comes with VirtualDJ LE, and the Pro II comes with Serato DJ Intro. Both are limited versions; enough to play around on, but if you want to really get into DJing you will want to upgrade to a full version. The controllers will also work with Traktor as well (my software of choice), if you download a mapping.
Hello people!
I am looking to buy a mixer to be able to mix my computer sound, my turntable and a bluetooth audiosource together. So I need atleast 3 stereo channels, maybe more for further upgrades. I have been lookig around a bit and found two contestants:
Monacor MMX-8, this one looks like it will fit my needs, but I never heard of the brand.
My second alternative is Behringer 1002FX, slightly more expensive but alot more features. (i.e The fx send seems like a fun thing to have if I decide to get some effect units.) This one also have 2 mic inputs that I wont to use.
So, are any of these actually any good at all, or should I look at something else completely?
Thanks in advance
/Jaxc
EDIT: Picture of how I want to connect things
i'm always switching things around but in this case i was using the sp to process my samples before sampling them into the mpc. some eq or vinyl sim. sometimes i'll do it the other way around once i have a complete beat produced on the mpc, i'll run it through the sp to effect the entire master bus.
i'm pretty sure this is the stand i got: https://www.amazon.com/Hola-Music-HPS-290B-Professional-Projector/dp/B07F3X3RT9/
if i'm doing something sample based i'll usually find a 8 or 16 bar loop i like and chop it across all 16 pads. sometimes i'll lay drums first and then play the samples on top, sometimes i mess around with the sample until i find a pattern i like and then add drums on top. then i mix and master in logic
Okay I'm going to make a copypasta for this simply because it gets asked so much

YOU WANT TO BUY YOUR FIRST CONTROLLER? GREAT. HERE ARE SOME CONTROLLERS THAT MIGHT SUIT YOU BASED ON WHAT YOU NEED

Prices are based on the American Amazon website and most of the time come with free shipping. Prices last checked March 14 2015.
Hope this helps
this is the stand - I have two. Strong. Stable. The board pictured in this post is the one I put on the stand. If I remember correctly it’s a Donner board. And a Donner power supply. I specifically got the mixer so we can use the 12 V on that. I use the 18V for the Digitech dirt pedal. I daisychain a few of the analog pedals together on one of the 100ma 9V outs. A few other pedals get dedicated 100ma lines. There are two higher-ma 9v outs. I use one for the outer rings and the other for the Rubberneck. Another feature: I run a daisychain out from one of the 100ma powerports to the electro-Faustus drone thing and the other no-name 6 oscillator drone synth I sometimes plug into this board. … Hope that’s enough power info!
Currently in three bands, I only use this one in synthband.com, see url for deets. All improv. Actual improv, rather than what most people call improv, which is mostly improv. So, it’s varied. Sometimes we slip into a genre, often noise. I have three other boards we use in that band, too. (here are two of them ) The band has never been the same lineup twice so that keeps things fresh.
Other bands (which don’t use this pedalboard) iCurd.com (a recording project) and Gurtrudestein, a horror-punk outfit I joined as a bassist. Small board there: polytune, mxr m80, electro-Faustus super disruptor.
… I think I covered everything?
This is pretty unique! I'm a beginning DJ, and I would absolutely love if I could get a decal of my logo. You can find it Here. Thanks again!
EDIT: Forgot to add an Amazon thing. This is probably where i'd put it! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004EKMR30/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Just a general question, my parents got me one of those crosley suitcase players (please dont crucify me, they had good intentions), but Im strapped for cash for awhile, so cant afford a new player. I've been reading that these players needles are absolute shit and will destroy records. Is there a needle replacement (a youtuber said these were pretty good) that I could add that won't get dull so fast? Any recommendations on how to get the most out of this turntable? (I already hooked it up to external speakers, mostly thinking about needle/arm replacements). Im still pretty new to vinyl, any help would be appreciated!
I use the Hercules DJ control instinct and it's $99. It comes with full software so your don't have to pay extra for software after 30 days of buying it. Great choice if you like reliable and good hardware and software. Here is the link
Audio quality starts with your soundcard. I highly recommend investing in one of these, which have great sound quality, and the 2 channels allows for previewing.
I also have a Fender Passport, and with this audio card, I go straight into one of the channels with a standard 1/4" cable.
Here's my headphone/standalone mic set up:
Headphones: Sony MDR-7506. They are some of the best in the business.

AT2020 (XLR Mic)

How much you spend, really depends on how committed you are to streaming!

Something like that? Is there a stand for something like this? Definitely gonna look i to bed risers cause ya boy is definitely working off a folding table right now
Yes, they vary in price, but you're looking at anywhere from $200 to $500 for a beginner controller, and you can get them at music shops or Amazon. DJing isn't a cheap hobby.
Here's a few that are pretty decent.
Numark Mixtrack Pro ii
Pioneer DDJ SB
Traktor Kontrol S2
Vestax VCI300 MK2
I carry this in my trunk all the time - it's sturdy, adjustable, and fits a large laptop nicely. The small lip on the edge is also great to keep your device from sliding off if bumped.
https://www.amazon.com/Hola-Music-HPS-300B-Professional-Multi-Purpose/dp/B010SJ0Y0I
Okay, well this is from the US Amazon site but it comes out to $500 USD, or $635 CAD
Turntable: Pro-Ject Debut Carbon
Phono Preamplifier: Pro-Ject Phono Box DC
I'd use the remaining funds on up-keep & accessories like a carbon fiber brush, a cork mat and a stylus cleaner
audio2dj is a great card to start with.
if not you can get a numark dj i/o, but I highly recommend the audio2dj over the numark
I have a 3.5mm to RCA cable into my headphone amp which also has an RCA pass through and that goes to my speakers.
However, I don't know if you want to spend the money on a headphone amp with a pass through, so I guess you could buy a cheap headphone splitter cable with one connected to your headphones and another to your speakers.
I guess that could cause issues with volume control since your headphones would be at full blast a lot if you have your computer volume turned up. You could also consider buying an audio selector or something of the sort.
EDIT: You can see something like this: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/SplitMix4?adpos=1o2&creative=55674776881&device=m&matchtype=&network=g&gclid=Cj0KEQiA_fy0BRCwiLaQ5-iFgpwBEiQA884sOU1j7B-NS0xIsjfFn5cl6zqWVn6QW29yCAlxxFbHP5gaAs6q8P8HAQ
I've never ordered from this website, but I have a product from the manufacturer and they make quality stuff.
EDIT 2: Here's an amazon link with Prime if you prefer.
($50) http://www.amazon.com/ART-SPLITMix4-4-Channel-Passive-Splitter/dp/B002VX0DCE
You could also consider this product for like half the price: ($26) http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00X4SSVAG/ref=mp_s_a_1_9?qid=1453346171&sr=8-9&pi=AC_SX220_SY330_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=Stereo+input+splitter
Just be sure to buy an audio adapter to send the audio from the splitter to your speakers.
EDIT 3: Spamming you again with another link to another product. ($19) http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003M8NVFS/ref=pd_aw_sim_23_2?ie=UTF8&dpID=412WWEsRYzL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL100_SR100%2C100_&refRID=0RJSQ3JMS6FC9YTJ55GZ
TL;DR - All of these products will get the job done. Just pick which one you want. 👍
True. You can get a nice Traktor branded flight case for around $200 ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004EKMR30/ref=pd_aw_sim_MI_1?refRID=1YG94EQNBC0GDBNZJKA0)
Will you be willing to save up a bit more and buy a Traktor S2 MK2 ?
It's $500 USD
http://www.amazon.com/Native-Instruments-Traktor-Kontrol-Controller/dp/B00EYZMCXK/ref=dp_ob_title_ce
from first hand experience, i could tell you that i love my laptop stand.
it’s decent priced and the build quality is sturdy as hell. i’ve had it for over a year and it hasn’t even moved an inch.
I use a very similar stand to that one - the DR Pro laptop stand - which is a little pricier but has the nice feature of having a second shelf and being width-adjustable. The slightly cheaper On-Stage Stands version also has a shelf but is not width adjustable. I would at least spring for that one instead of the one you linked, because of the extra mounting hardware and the shelf. I don't have any pictures at the moment unfortunately.
I'm not sure how build quality differs between the manufacturers since they appear to be largely the same design, but my DR Pro one is very rugged and gig-worthy. The on-stage stands one probably is as well.
This one, but white.
I've found it to be pretty sturdy. Only problem is it doesn't come with washers, and it kinda needs them because the supports for the laptop have a little width to them. Because of that, the bottom bar is always just a bit shorter than the top 2 bars. Still works without them though. I tightened mine too tightly to get the knob off the bottom, so it's been washerless but has worked for like 6 months so far with no problem.
You'll probably have to build yourself a stage unless you want to buy your own, but that can be pricey.
You'd want a mixer, XLRs, microphone, microphone stand, and speaker
That only has 2 channels of output, meaning you could only output mono to the house if you wanted to reserve 1 channel for headphones.
If you get a couple of rca Y-splitters from the dollar store that'll work though.
http://www.amazon.com/musical-instruments/dp/B002MV4JUM Something like this would be more suitable and less hacky.
Sorry for the delay, weekend and all that. Here are a couple options for you.
Numark Mixtrack Pro is a very common starter controller. Behringer, while not exactly known for quality, especially in their DJ gear, seems to be decent with their CMD line. Your cheapest option would be to get something like the PL-1. It is essentially one side of a regular controller, and no mixer controls. This is still a viable option though, while a bit of a hassle. Essentially you flip back and forth between which channel the device is controlling. So not exactly ideal from a workflow perspective, but you might consider it due to budget. You can expand later.
This was me last week, researching beginner gear. Here's what i found... Traktor Z1 comes highly recommended (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DCP4O6Q/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3EZB37GZBB0QG&coliid=IANFVHSDOHHYS)
and also try to see if you can find the Traktor S2 used (or new, if you can afford it) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EYZMCXK/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3EZB37GZBB0QG&coliid=I2C2347UBO6E81
I got this case:
It looks for all purposes to be the same design as the Odyssey. The laptop stand works great, no issues with the tray sliding out the back. My only complaint is the foam is a little too soft and it's getting ripped up a bit on the cover for the headphone jack. The NI case does have a nice feature which is heavy duty velcro straps around the laptop tray so you can just strap your laptop inside the case for transport and not need to bring a 2nd bag.
Odyssey cases are pretty much industry standard though, I doubt you would be unhappy with it.
Unless your software can select two different soundcards then yes you are hosed.
Return it immediately! If you can return your m-audio and sell your mixtrack for a mixtrack pro (with included audio interface) you'll be much better off. Failing that you should return the M-Audio for a NI Traktor Audio 2 which has all the interfaces you need and is cheaper at $100 than what you paid for your m-audio.
Honestly I don't see why anyone would buy the mixtrack instead of the pro, it's just a product waiting to fail as it did for you without a good way to CUE.
Also, why would a company willingly try to support other hardware makers through something compatible with most mixers on the market? Also, there would likely be some kind of limitation to a useful midi only jog wheel. This is likely more limiting. Most of the more popular controllers offer some kind of HID or more advanced integration with more resolution to the jog wheel. See Serato Native mode and Traktor HID.
Else you could look at the behrenger CMD line. They have what you're describing for: http://www.amazon.com/Behringer-CMD-PL-1-DJ-Controller/dp/B00DW5NCN2/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1414422873&sr=8-4&keywords=behringer+cmd
You'd be surprised how expensive these things actually are!
The model I have is a couple years old but here's a new one going for 650: http://www.amazon.com/SKB-12U-Shock-Mount-Rack/dp/B000EENJYG
It really doesn't make sense to me.
This one Hola! Music HPS-300B Heavy Duty Professional Multi-Purpose DJ Tripod Stand - Laptop Stand, Projector Stand, Mixer Stand and other Audio Equipment https://www.amazon.com/dp/B010SJ0Y0I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_4I5mDbPBSHFW4
And the Model D is on another similar one - placed behind it
Any kind of jog wheel that outputs midi will work. But you will need to edit some java script to map it to your software. Here's a single jog one. You could pick up two of these, or just pickup any dj controller: https://www.amazon.com/Behringer-CMD-PL-1-BEHRINGER/dp/B00DW5NCN2/ref=sr_1_145?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1493739418&sr=1-145&keywords=midi+controller
Follow up sound question:

need to use hardware like a cheap mixer with FX or a synthesizer
software sucks and doesn't work
like one of these https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6TWbdenxO0
or these https://www.amazon.com/Behringer-Premium-10-Input-Multi-Fx-Processor/dp/B000J5SYPY/
needs a real microphone too with xlr or 1/4" not a cheap headset mic
You can also just use a passive mixer to combine audio: I use this one. The only slightly annoying this is that it takes 1/4" TRS inputs instead of the normal 1/8" (3.5mm), so you need adapter cables.
I am using this one:
https://www.amazon.com/Behringer-1002FX-BEHRINGER-XENYX/dp/B000J5SYPY/ref=sr_1_34?crid=3ELSMDSLQ1ECC&keywords=behringer+mixer&qid=1554621897&s=gateway&sprefix=bhringer%2Caps%2C204&sr=8-34

Main problem is that it doesn't have a power button and shutting it off will send a loud sound to your speakers.
