It's not out yet so it's largely untested by the public, but I think Nyko's dedicated Switch charger is worth mentioning for the people like me looking for a small charger that will charge while playing. It's out August 1st.

I have one of their charging grips coming this Monday, I'll edit comment this with the quality.

Edit: the quality is surprisingly solid. I expected a much cheaper feel to it but it feels really good in the hand.

My only complaint would be the palm grips end just a bit too low for my taste but I've already gotten use to it and just really like the way it feels. None of that haywire joycon nonsense that we see with some cheaper charge grips.

This one is really great. It will clamp on to the back of your switch so you can charge and play at the same time and doubles the switches battery

Something like this would work. The newer 8bitdo controllers should all be USB-C, so they would fit just fine.

Is this the one you're referring to? That looks pretty slick, especially with the ability to connect multiple pieces together.

Hava look at the Joy-Con AA Battery Pack Pair. With these you can charge the Joy cons while playing and if you have bigger hands you can hold them properly (even without batteries inside).

I bought this charging grip the other day and I have to say it's been amazing it charges the joycons without being plugged in and has a nice soft rubber texturized grip.

Not exactly sure what you're saying/asking.

The Pro Controllers come with a USB to USB Type C wire that you can plug into the Switch Dock to charge them. The Switch does not have to be in the Dock to charge the Controllers.

If you mean charging the Joy Cons while using them as a controller (called "Grip"), there is an alternative Grip which can be used to charge the Joy Cons, too. It looks like the one that came with the console but has a USB Port.

I need a second docking solution for the office. I’m a bit terrified of all the options, I don’t want to get something that damages my Switch. I was waiting for months for the Nyko mini base and heartbroken when reports came that it could cause damage

If I got that I would need an ac adapter. Does the official Nintendo ac adapter work with these third party docks? Is that a known problem? Am I better off with a different charger?

I don’t think the dock above allows tv out, but for $5 with coupon I can work with that. Is there a different dock and ac adapter that doesn’t cause damage, that you recommend?

Not even this power cord from Nyko? I thought the 3rd party docks were the issue, not necessarily the power cords.

These definitely work with the NES Joy-Cons, and have a picture displaying it. SNES controllers are yet wider than NES ones, though, so I wouldn't count on this being future-proof.

You just need to make sure you get the correct one, it's easy to make a mistake

This is the AC adapter which is what you want. What you don't want is this which is just a charger and doesn't output enough power for the dock but will charge the Switch. Both from Nyko and look very similar.

I cannot charge my switch with any non official charger. I have tried multiple and recently bought this one:

I bought it because the good reviews. My switch is dead and it shows the battery icon and a lightning bolt but it doesn’t let me turn it on ever. Just the Nintendo logo and back to the battery symbol. Even after being on the charger for hours. Is there any solution?

Get a new charger, they're little under 20 bucks. If that's too much for you then you need a power block that is 15v 2.6A type charger. Here is one on Amazon for only 10 bucks but i would suggest getting the official nintendo one, since third party stuff can sometimes damage a device and Switches have been having issues lately with third party chargers.

1. A hard case
   
2. Do you see yourself hooking it up to hotel TVs? If so, then get a smaller dock casing (like this one) and move the dock's internals into it, so it won't take up nearly as much room in your bag.
   
3. You may want some kind of joycon grip, as the joycons can be uncomfortable to hold for extended periods of time.
   
4. Depending on your reliability to access power, you may want a battery pack, either just a normal external one, or one that attaches to the back of the Switch (like this one or this one).
   
5. Earbuds, obviously.

After all the Brick Switch talk, I'm nervous about buying a non-licensed car carger.
I'm trying to buy a switch for a friend, and he does some long distance travelling. so I want to buy the Amazonbasics Car charger.

Does anyone know if car chargers themselves are known to damage the switch?

What’s the point of having a charging case if you still have a cable sticking out? Especially for that price. For those of you who want a cheaper and less janky charging case for your Switch here are some other charge cases:

Zerolemon 10.000 mAh

The Zover still uses a cable but at least it’s tucked in so it shouldn’t be as annoying. You could also get a battery pack which are a lot cheaper.
