Thanks, I've spent the past couple years focusing on fit and it has made a world of difference!

Those are the Cole Haan Grand Tour I scored for a sweet deal on Amazon. The price is always changing, so you may get lucky :)

I just bought these Cole Hann oxfords on Poshmark for $20! They are SO COMFY. Two issues I'm having though - the backs seem low on the heel, I guess I have to get used to that feeling? (first good pair of oxfords) And they look off with my current outfit, a dark purple fit and flare. Maybe because I have bare legs? Trying to decide if I should save them for fall or if it's just too much dark in one outfit mixed with the super pale bare legs. What's the best way to wear oxfords in summer/spring?

I've been wanting these Frye Jillian slip on oxfords in the whiskey color for almost 2 years. I work in a lab so I need my foot covered, but I'm also trying to be more professional than my normal keds and these are perfect for my style! The issue is I believe they're discontinued and I wear an 8-8.5 so it's been hard to find them in my size. Any ideas or similar shoes that could work? I'm willing to pay up to retail price for the Fryes because I've been wanting these for so long and am confident they'll fit into my wardrobe. Thanks!

Ordered a few pieces from Need Supply and I'm super excited for them to arrive. I haven't bought new clothes in years, I thrift everything. Plus I am slowly getting comfortable wearing color on top. I'm not sure yet what I'll pair this top with:

This top and pants to wear together for now.

And these beautiful Docs!

Opinions on these shoes? I can't decide if they're stylish or dowdy, I work in a business casual environment and I'm looking for shoes that can be pulled off stylishly with skinny trousers, but still be work appropriate and comfortable. I came across these Danskos and was surprised because I associate Danskos with their usual clog shape, but if these are as comfortable as their standard style they might be worth trying.

THE perfect brown oxfords. Preferably full leather (including sole), but would settle for a synthetic sole. 3/4 inch heel at most; preferably 1/2 inch. They need to be easy to break in (no stiff leather, even though it lasts longer). Every time I go into a shoe store I always end up in the men's section salivating over all of the beautiful oxfords. I want my own darn it! I just pulled the trigger on the Bed Stu Lita, which I will probably return because realistically, a 1 inch stacked heel is enough to make shoes uncomfortable for me. But they are so beautiful. I found these Cole Haan's Jagger Oxford, but the sequioa color is all sold out! I've looked at Tomboy Toes, and have considered the Wingtip Commanders, but again, the heel looks too high. If anyone has any recs, I'm all ears :)

one more suggestion I have: the Emery by Ahnu. Leather upper, leather insole. It runs a little wide. The leather is soft and breaks in easily, but they also scuff a little easier than I'd like. I've had these shoes for several months and love them.

Late to this, but I'm looking into oxfords. Hoping for a more slim style like these or maybe these. Both well out of my budget, but the kind of thing I'm hoping to find.

Calling anyone who lives in/near Norway! I'm traveling to Europe this summer and will be spending a week in Norway and then a week near Pula, Croatia. We want to do some city sightseeing and some hiking, and I cannot for the life of me figure out what shoes to pack as my everyday walking shoes!

I'm planning to bring waterproof trail running shoes, but they're bright teal so not exactly chic for in the cities. I'm also bringing a pair of comfy leather sandals for beachside touring. My main concern is everyday footwear for Norway - do I need waterproof shoes? Are sneakers ok? Would these in dove look too touristy? All advice is welcome!

u/moglichkeiten · 2 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

These aren't super fancy, but I do find they run pretty generous in terms of width. Wide enough to fit an orthotic!

u/D_Queen · 4 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

Some folks think Naturalizer and Aerosoles can read old lady, but they also have lots of classic options and would definitely work for comfort! A friend of mine was wearing these yesterday.

u/FancyDressKitten · 4 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

I really love my Toms and my boat shoes. My Toms and gray, and my Sperrys are tan, so I'm pretty much covered as far as comfortable shoes, but I also think oxfords would be great too.

u/ilyenia · 6 pointsr/AskTrollX

I have a pair of these oxfords that I love, look great, and get lots of compliments on.

u/redparapluie · 1 pointr/femalefashionadvice

I have the charlie brogue. It looks like they currently have these available, but patent leather can easily get scuffed. Other quality comfort brands to consider are Born and Bass. Looks like you should be able to find something for 100-150(USD).

u/pleine_lune · 2 pointsr/SwingDancing

For outdoor dancing I like something like this. If you do a little searching you can often find these Not Rated oxfords (and there are a couple of similar brands) for pretty cheap. The soles are a very lightly textured rubber that's actually pretty smooth to dance on, especially once you wear them in a little. They're similar to but smoother than the normal Keds sole, which I find too sticky. They're not shoes that are going to last long in any case, so if you don't pay much for them, you won't feel too bad about giving them rough treatment.

Beyond that, don't try to spin on concrete -- you're going to have to step through turns in a way that won't be as smooth as normal. You'll have to pick up your feet more between steps. Swivels may not work well either. You just have to compromise a little for the sake of your knees, which you don't want to mess around with.

u/SunnyAslan · 1 pointr/femalefashionadvice

Usually they are too brown or embellished, but I appreciate the suggestion! Right now I just keep rebuying thes, which are perfect except the leather stains/scratches up quickly.
