BMC WW2 USMC Amtrac LVT - 1:32 Amphibious Vehicle for Plastic Army Men https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002BFQ7K4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_8.-5CbKBDJVAF

The body of this thing is polyethylene so it doesn’t like most modeling glues.

Loctite 681925 2-Gram Super Glue Plastics Bonding System with Activator (6 Pack) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00448IKL0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Fc.5CbPKBW14E

That one worked pretty well after some experimentation. Green stuff as a bond or works pretty well too.

Most of the rest of the parts are from a Baneblade Upgrade kit.

Ambulances are the most popular boys toy for this age group at my local play center. The boys fight over these. But generally all boys this age love toy cars and trains of all kinds (it’s insane how gender stereotypical kids this age are).

Also Daiso has some great toys and picture books if you have one nearby. My son loves the series of JR trains they stock (at this age he doesn’t need the middle part with the engine that requires batteries- just the front or back carriage- or rails yet). They also stock a great kindergarten bus, fire engine and other sturdier trucks. He’ll also want a sand play set (bucket, spade, mesh bag, sand trucks) for the park.

Re: bricks- he’s still too young to build his own towers, but he will LOVE it if someone else builds a tower (go for height not ornament) he can knock down.

I've always been a builder: Tonka Loader

Also, Erector Set!

All of my toys were second hand. But my grandfather did an amazing job of restoring the Tonka Loader, removing the rust and repainting it fresh yellow and black. And my Dad got a nice new-ish metal toolbox for the erector set. You could use both of them to build a whole working construction site in the sandbox! :D

Glad you're back!! So far this year my favorite thing I did was take my daughter to one of those indoor play place things for the first time. She loved it!

Playset for kiddo.

Please feel free to ask me any questions. I'll be glad to advise as best I can. The constant voltage power supply will really help isolate the voltage variable, and as I assume you know, power is wattage, and wattage is the product of voltage and current. As was discussed earlier, varying battery voltage WILL affect your results; get rid of that variable altogether. If you need some ideas on what to use for a power supply, let me know. Do you have the brand and model number of the car, or can you tell me where you found it? I wanted to see if I could find the electrical specs.

EDIT: Found it.

EDIT 2: The thing operates on two C batteries in series, so 3v. I see that there are LEDs for the antenna and headlights. You could de-solder that, or just cut the wires, to simplify things a bit, allowing you to remove or replace the body. Something that concerns me is the "Flipping Spinning Tumble" thing. I don't see any electronics that makes this thing do any of that, nor does anything in the gearing look to be doing that, but it is hard to tell from the one picture. I would consider disabling any of that spinning/flipping stuff. I would also consider removing a gear in the series of them leading to the axle farthest from the motor. Reason for that is to help with your experimentation: Center of gravity close to the drive wheels versus away. With it being 4WD, well, that reduces your options.

Aside from a bench-top power supply, I'm struggling to come up with what a suitable constant 3V power supply would be... that isn't nearly as common as 5v, 9v, or 12v supplies which could be taken out of... oh, wait... Do this: borrow a power supply from an old computer of most any kind. The 3.3v of an ATX power supply would be able to handle 20A or more, WAY more than you'd be drawing. Yep, do that. The orange wires should be 3.3v. The blacks will be common.

Okay, what's next? :)

Yup, I agree that it is crazy, upside, inside out and back to front.

However, I do have all the paperwork to substantiate everything including getting a cheaper price from the EXACT SAME VENDOR, that sells on Amazon and Ebay and I received shipping within 48 hours (or a little LESS).

However, my price was even cheaper on Ebay than their cheaper current price: (and this was NOT a Black Friday Deal - this is from over a week ago!)

If you want I can supply you with my order date invoice - Nov. 14th and then the Fed Ex delivery date on Nov. 16th - which was two days later.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In addition, I have emails from Amazon stating that any free freight is considered a promotion, which led to them sending me 'violations'.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This email was sent to me, to help me settle my many disputes regarding prime NOT being a promotion. Unfortunately, the Community Team refused to change their 'wrong decisions'.

Hello
This email is to confirm that Prime is not considered a promotion towards your purchases.
Best regards,

As I stated, I have proof of everything that I have written. Just ask, and please don't judge until you have seen all the facts.

You made my day. Thank You!

I would have told them to hold out for a Ferrari as a signing bonus. Of course you have to be careful to read the fine details in the contract, least be surprised when it is delivered.

>Sucks because I've heard the game is very good.

It's actually pretty good until you need to use the Batmobile (or as I like to call it, the Bat-Tank), and find the Batmobile mechanics clunky, the missions involving the Batmobile tedious and frustrating to the point of causing you to rage-quit, and the whole concept of blowing up things with the Batmobile ridiculous. It's like they wanted something to slow down the speed of the player's progression and also appeal to 12-year-olds (and sell toys of course), and they completely broke the game in my opinion.

Also, your framerate tanks while in the Bat-tank. Save your money for something else.

I had a Tonka dump truck like this one when I was a kid. There's also this one which is a bit less. Hope you can find one that looks good to you :)

u/ignorances · 1 pointr/nostalgia

That's because the toys you're thinking of were knock-offs of Fisher Price Little People. They had the same bodies, but Disney heads.

I think if you search for "Illco Mickey Mouse Vehicle Play Set" you will find what you're looking for for the figures. I don't know which set you had.

There are a few copies on ebay, still in box, of new old stock. (Those aren't my auctions, I just found them when I was searching for a picture.)

Or:

https://www.amazon.com/Illco-Disneys-Mickey-Mouse-Vehicle/dp/B00GRAFAUM

The amazon listing, with picture.

I don't know about the slide. You might have used those figures with the Illco Loop the Loop playset or Roller Coast play set. I think the vehicles were compatible.

My son loved this one

The bonus was that it was building blocks AND a fire truck. Was his favorite toy when he was five.

u/safe_for_work_stuff · 1 pointr/RocketLeague

I mean, they're not die-cast sadly, but you can buy the awesome RL pull back racer set, which includes the octane

u/qwertykitty · 2 pointsr/toddlers

We have this garbage truck and about 3 duplo sets, including the construction themed one and those 2 things are about 95% of what my son plays with. The duplos are just the right size to load the trashcan for the garbage truck and he builds various trucks with the truck Legos. It's been a year and those are still all he plays with. We tried big items like a play tent, ball pit, balance bike and he really hasn't gone for any of them.

u/TagProNitro · 1 pointr/TagPro

Hahah, I was expecting something like this to show up.

Thanks for reminding me of an old childhood hobby I used to share with my grandad. Might have to get a model car kit soon and piece it together!

u/Giblet15 · 1 pointr/woodworking

Thanks! I'm definitely going to pick this up for stuff for my son but the builds seem more involved than I'm able to spend for all the kids.

I'm thinking stuff more like this. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0049NVVUC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_EFEPDb92TM1WS

Green toys makes some good trucks. My son’s favorites are the dump truck and the recycling truck. Many times they go on amazon lightening sale and you can get them for 40% off.

Specifically, its the Eaglemoss Starship Collection "All Good Things" Enterprise-D. I have the Defiant. It's actually a nice little model/toy/thing, comes with a magazine talking about the ship, both in-universe and from a production point of view.

u/alarumba · 5 pointsr/funny

Ooo, that looks good.

Here's a non-mobile link.

u/ThaddeusJP · 7 pointsr/funny

Greenlight also makes a version that's slightly nicer

Sherman tanks would do ok for Russes.

Someone recently converted one of these into a Forgeworld Gorgon/ Crassus transport (can’t find the post)
