Might be a little late but I had really bad acne for a kid and still would as an adult if I didn’t adopt a strict skincare routine and diet (it’s not that bad). Drinking water and changing your pillowcases frequently (every week to two weeks) also will help especially if you start putting all this product on your face. see note at the end*

For some, cutting out either, some, or all of the following helps alleviate acne: Dairy, Oil, Sugar, Gluten. But since you said you had no changes in diet I won’t go into that. Sorry in advance for formatting errors as I did all of this from mobile. Some products have instruction in Korean but I will tell you how to use them. Everything is used everyday/every night unless specified.

  1. If I wear makeup, I use Jeju Deep Cleansing Balm. When used, it creates a layer of moisture but this can make rags feel congested, so I recommend wiping this with toss-able towels. It smells good and is good for getting the eyes especially. Just put a little on there towel/wipe and rub face until makeup is removed, then use another wipe to remove the excess balm.
  2. I use African Black Soap after removing heavy full face make-up. For light/no make-up/mornings I use Senka Perfect Whip Foaming Cleanser. It takes about a month to come through Amazon, but if your local Asian market has a skincare store and most do, it can usually be found there. Works best if you have some kind of Spin Brush for face or a Whip Maker. It doesn’t work as well as it does with either of these products using just hand or rag. You can also use cheesecloth (examples on YouTube).
  3. I use either of these masks if my skin feels dry or looks dull. Just rub on face and leave for 5-7 min then rinse off. This brand also has peeling masks as well that I use every other day in place of these. The peeling masks work similar to the nose strips people use to pull out nose blackheads and can be used to substitute them but can be used on whole face as well.
  4. With my face cleaned and moisture somewhat restored, I soft exfoliate (I use everyday. If I wear makeup I use it same night and if I plan to wear makeup the next day, skip morning and use at night again. To use - rub soft side on face first to spread, then rub gently with textured side. Otherwise I use in morning. I hard exfoliate with this. I don’t scrub harder it’s just a sugar kind of scrub so it has the potential to cause inflammation if you’re rubbing to hard. I use every other day, this also works great on body and legs when shaving.
  5. After exfoliating, I use Thayers Witch Hazel Toner. Remove with a cotton pad. I’ve found towelettes and pepper towels don’t work nearly as well as something cotton based. Toner helps to pull excess dirt from deep skin pores. On Sundays/Wednesday’s only I use Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Pore Clay Mask. Instructions say specifically to use after Toner.
  6. Now that face is cleaned and restored, I use a squeeze Vitamin C serum only at night. I got this from my local Asian market but if you ask they’ll know what you are talking about. I dab it ONLY onto any dark spots/acne scars on my face. Vitamin C has lightening/brightening properties and using it on your whole face may lighten it. I let it sit for 5 minutes minimum to as long as I can before I need to sleep so it absorbs into my skin. I dab off any excess after with a paper towel.
  7. After that, I use The Ordinary’s Hyaluronic Acid. You can look up the full benefits but it can help with skin elasticity and smoothing wrinkles/scars from pimple popping. You can get this MUCH cheaper at Sephora - they’re $7 I believe and this company has a bunch of other serums I want to try. On Sundays and Wednesday’s, I use a Mask Sheet. Asian markets sell them but they usually sell them individual and I pay for the big back of 48 here. Helps restore tons of moisture in face and provide different benefits based on the mask you choose but most are the same. They also smell nice!
  8. One I use the mask and rub it in, I use a mixture of three oils: Kukui, Rosehip, TeaTree Oil. All of them can be found on amazon and have different benefits that tie together. I mix them into a tiny container and do very small dabs into my skin and rub it in. Kukui oil also works as a massage oil as it’s very light and great natural sunscreen (though if you plan to go to the beach wearing regular sunscreen and using the Kukui to seal it in is best).
  9. Finally, I finish with my Elizabeth Arden Moisture Cream. $55 seems expensive but a little goes a LONG way, I use about enough to cover the whole tip of my finger, a light dip like if you want to taste something for example. You don’t need a lot because at this point your face is already moisturized enough that it should just glide on.
  10. To finish, since I have hyperpigmentation and get dark spots at the slightest raise on my skin, I use Ambi Dark Spot Corrector. Can be found at target I think, my mom usually buys it. Put light amounts on affected areas and sleep.

*Note: you may need to slowly introduce these products. Most of them are geared toward moisturizing and preventing aging as well. If you do anything, I’m at least recommend exfoliating often, changing pillow cases and properly moisturizing your skin using the sheet masks as well as possibly vitamin E serums. I plan on getting some but have no money rn, but Belei sent me free samples and I loved it. I think The Ordinary also carries some. Also, properly washing your face will probably help as well, and I’d recommend getting at least a spin brush. Over rubbing your face can be harmful to the skin and skin brushes usually clean well enough without harm.

I hope this helps! This is my whole routine but if anything jumps out feel free to not look at everything! I’m of course not a dermatologist but this helped me and I now only get pimples usually if I eat excess of the previously mentioned triggers :) my skin is now brighter and dark spots clear up in about 2-3 months but are usually lighter after about two weeks.

OH MY GOD PLEASE NO

DO NOT USE SUGAR

DO NOT USE SALT

DO NOT USE COFFEE GRAINS

NEVER USE LIME (I mean, really? What year is this? Why are we recommending this to people?)

These things will make microtears in your skin and leave you with scars and pigmentation, and even carry bacteria all around your face (they don't kill bacteria, but if you have some causing acne in one spot they're great at getting into a pore when they tear your skin and carrying that bacteria over to a new spot on your face to break you out more).

If you find that you have flaky skin and need to exfoliate, you can use a physical method that is gentle such as a cotton wash cloth, a clean brush or silicon thingy (like this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071H3T2WC/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ). Or you can use a very, very gentle exfoliating product like this one that uses cellulose and cotton in the actual wash and not something hard and granular that will have sharp edges like sugar ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DN85WQ2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ).

Better yet, if you don't really have that thick, dry, flaky, crackly skin, use a cleanser, toner, or cream with an AHA or BHA like 2% SA: https://www.amazon.com/CeraVe-Renewing-Cleanser-Salicylic-Normal/dp/B00U1YCRD8/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=3LS2UD8S2VUVG&keywords=salicylic+acid+face+cleanser&qid=1554488530&s=beauty&sprefix=salicy%2Cbeauty%2C197&sr=1-1-spons&psc=1

https://www.amazon.com/Ordinary-Glycolic-Toning-Solution-240ml/dp/B071914GGL/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=the+ordinary+glycolic+acid&qid=1554488568&s=beauty&sr=1-3

Start off using these once every third day, and if they don't irritate your skin, you can try every other day, or every day, or twice a day. But don't overdo it right away because it will essentially burn off a layer of your skin if you are overexposed to an acid. These are strong, which is why they are effective, but you have to be careful.

u/HedgehogLeapfrog · 2 pointsr/blogsnark

Oh hey, I have that. I don't use it for anti-aging though; I'm still dealing with acne as a 26-year-old. Once the red bottle ran out (which I guess is the anti-aging part? Didn't even realize that until I clicked your link) I just used my own face wash with the spinning brush thingy, but I do buy the blue microdermabrasion bottle refills -- there's a [different kit] (https://www.amazon.com/Olay-Microdermabrasion-Advanced-Cleansing-System/dp/B00CYA5E1O/ref=sr_1_2_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1505396135&sr=8-2&keywords=olay+microdermabrasion+kit) that comes with both red and blue bottles -- and I think that helps even out my skin a bit (I use the blue bottle 2-3 times a week after I use my regular cleanser.) It's not a miracle worker for my acne or uneven skin tone, but it does help. I've had the spinning brush for like a year and a half and it's still going strong! I, too refuse to pay for a Clairsonic, so I can't compare the two, but for the price I'm happy with the Olay version and I do think it cleans my skin better than just using my hands or a wash cloth.

Hopefully this helps out a little even if your skin needs are different! edit: also your kitty is a cutie!

Cleansing Brush System Question ahead:

Hello! my wife hinted that she wanted this product

https://www.amazon.com/Clarisonic-Sonic-Facial-Cleansing-System/dp/B00O4XROFS/ref=zg_bs_7792503011_4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=EKAN9EZB792A4Q31E61W

Its a bit out of our budget, so i searched and found this as the best seller for the High Frequency Facial Machines Category:

https://www.amazon.com/Essential-Skin-Solutions-Exfoliating-Microdermabrasion/dp/B00PYK2UI6/ref=zg_bs_7792503011_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=EKAN9EZB792A4Q31E61W

Also found this #1 best seller, and it seems to be the same type of item, but its on a different category (Galvanic Facial Machines)

https://www.amazon.com/Waterproof-Electric-Facial-Cleansing-Handle/dp/B01GSP1QIA/ref=zg_bs_7792502011_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=VMF74AEMVJE16SBW5YNY

Basically which is the best option? im absolutely clueless when it comes to this kind of stuff, so i came here to ask the pros.... Maybe one that isnt listed here is better? or is there a real worthwhile difference between the $169 vs the $39 one???

Any help will be appreciated! thanks!

u/I-dont-know-how-this · 1 pointr/MakeupAddiction

I've never tried the Clairisonic, so maybe I'm a bad one to answer... But I do use a knock off from Amazon, and I LOVE it.

I am too cheap to actually spring* for the Clairisonic. I've had this Amazon one for over 2 years, I just buy the new heads on Amazon. They are soft. I'm very fair, almost lobster red, with very sensitive skin and I love it. I notice a difference when I don't use it.

I'm not sure if this is the EXACT one I have, but these companies all look pretty similar: FLYMEI® Waterproof Facial Cleansing Brush Facial Massager Natural Face Cleanser for Women & Men - Stimulate Collagen - Pore Minimizer - Reveal a Radiant and Youthful Skin https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LQHOJCQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_u2DnybDHAHWSN

u/howistheskyblue · 3 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

The rotating ones stripped my skin and i loved the vibrating ones much more!
There are so many sonic cleansers on amazon that are much cheaper than the clarisonic or foreo. Like literally saves you hundreds of dollars and works just as well- which is a godsend for my skincare addiction.

I use the solo mio which works just as well as when i tried the foreo
https://www.amazon.com/SOLO-Sonic-Cleanser-Massager-Brush/dp/B00OYZKBVA/ref=sr_1_5_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1524533922&sr=8-5&keywords=sonic+face+brush

as for the vibrating brushes instead of the clarisonic:
https://www.amazon.com/SOLO-Sonic-Cleanser-Massager-Brush/dp/B00OYZKBVA/ref=sr_1_5_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1524533922&sr=8-5&keywords=sonic%2Bface%2Bbrush&th=1

u/cbradbury505 · 2 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

I wanted to see if I liked using a brush like the Foreo before splurging so I bought this one on Amazon. I love it. I bought it almost a year ago and it's still in great condition. The charge lasts about 3-4 weeks with everyday use. I probably won't be buying a Foreo and I will stick to this one.

u/dickonajunebug · 2 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

I bought it on Amazon, here's the link [SOLO Mio - Sonic Facial Brush, Cleanser & Massager] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OYZKBVA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_vnKuxbG92XBTQ)

I like it better than brush or pad versions because it feels softer and I don't need to purchase refills. I bought mine about 7 months ago and really enjoy it. It looks like there are other products that are just as highly reviewed and cost even less.

u/ceubear · 1 pointr/BeautyAddiction

I bought a cleansing brush from Groupon! It's called Spin for Perfect Skin from Vitagoods

Through the groupon, I only got it for $20! I don't know how it compares to the clairsonic mia, but I really like this brush! It just uses two double A batteries

After exfoliating with the brush, I spray on Caudelie grape water to moisturize and tone my skin. I like the grape water. I've always wanted a cheap facial mist spray, and I just saw the bottle of grape water in Ulta or Sephora and I was like, eh why not. Before that, I was looking at Avene thermal spray to get from Amazon or something, but I was too lazy to order online at the moment.

u/esvilanova · 2 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

You should try the Clarisonic Mia 2 for taking off makeup. It's a bit expensive, but it is hands down the best beauty product I've ever used. No more raccoon eyes!

Hi there!

I just wanted to let you know that Automod has removed your comment because it contains an Amazon referral link, which we don't allow in the sub.

Could you please edit the URL so that everything from (and including) "tag=" is removed? That way, the product page will still be visible - but no one can make a profit from the link.

Alternatively, copy this link:

If you've done that, please reply to this message so I can approve your comment. Thank you!

Hi! I also have super dry skin that looks best when left alone, and have noticed it is super sensitive to cleansers. Your cleanser may be too harsh for your skin. The only cleansing that my skin likes is oil cleansing, and this product is great because it washes off:
https://www.amazon.com/Cleansing-Moisturizing-Cleanser-Sensitive-Rosemary/dp/B07777BXJ9/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1518826993&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=oil+cleanser&psc=1

I also wash with this instead of a face brush because it cleans well but isn't abrasive:
https://www.amazon.com/SOLO-Sonic-Cleanser-Massager-Brush/dp/B00OYZKBVA/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1518827068&sr=1-2-spons&keywords=foreo&psc=1

u/absolutpalm · 5 pointsr/muacjdiscussion

I got a knockoff from amazon for about $40 and I really enjoy it. I got lazy about recharging it and stopped using it for a few months and definitely noticed a negative change in my skin where I tend to get oily and touch my face during the day. My breakouts have improved since I charged it back up and started using it again. It makes my skin feel softer than after just regular washing with my hands. I agree with u/2pmwhiskey, I feel like it helps give me a more thorough clean when I'm too tired to do a great job on my own. After ~ two years, it's still working fine. I will notice sometimes the vibrations will slow and then speed up for no reason, but it doesn't seem to affect how well it cleans my face.

u/chocosweet · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

I have this one:

Sonic Facial Cleansing Brush Massager: 3-in-1 Rechargeable Electric Silicone Exfoliating Face Brush https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HRXTTCX/

Been having it for 8 months, so far I am liking it. Feel like it cleans better. I use BP wash. So if I don't cleanse it enough, it will bleach my towel. Since using the brush, I don't notice any bleaching on my towel

Hello my lovely friends

My Kikumasamune Sake Skin Lotion High Moisture lotion has finally arrived!!! I'm excited to use it.

Quick question though, how do you guys apply it?

Cheers - Athy x

Oops, I have another question. How do you guys treat/remove blackheads, I'm rather embarrassed to ask this, but do Facial Cleansing brushes work such as :

You convinced me! Can I benefit from your knowledge by asking what do you think of this one? Does it look good to you? or are the bristles too long? It vibrates too apparently but I don't care.

FOREO LUNA play plus: Portable Facial Cleansing Brush, Aquamarine https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XSZ4W12/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_y-uBDbS04HCX5
At Amazon, same price as Ulta's 21 days of beauty steals.

I use this every morning and night in the shower with Cerave cleanser.

Twice per week I use AHA renewing cream (10% concentration of Lactic Acid. Got the recommendation from /r/SkincareAddiction's wiki for my skin type).

After every wash, and sometimes during the day (especially during bad days) I use Cetaphil moisturizer with SPF15.

I still have bad days but this routine has given me the best results so far. SD sucks (not that I have to tell you of course). If it ever gets worse, I'll try adding an anti-fungal cream as well.

A quick note about how I use the ProX brush at it's highest speed, which isn't all that fast anyway. The brush is extremely soft, I even use it dry to get rid of flakes if I'm at home.

u/C19-H28-O2 · 2 pointsr/steroids

Stole my girl’s facial scrubber thing. It’s like the power waxer for a car, or battery operated boot polisher (for the truly worthless man). A dab of my soap (Dr Bronners tea tree soap; the orange one) and go to town. It is the only thing that works, and blackheads are invisible for the first time since puberty.

I have both the Clarisonic and a Foreo Luna dupe and I much prefer my Foreo Luna dupe (the Solo Mio, at least $100 cheaper - Solo Mio - Amazon). I have dry skin with some texture and I can feel a difference when I use the Solo with my regular cleanser a few times a week. Meanwhile, I find the Clarisonic a bit too irritating for my skin. I also don't think it's the most hygienic.
