I was able to accomplish this very nicely, without a lot of expense. My Mosin actually had a dovetail under the rear sight. All I had to do was remove the pins, tap off the rear sight, and install a long eye relief scope. Here's what I used:

This scope has extremely long eye relief (usable between 8-18") if you're looking to mount it scout style. I own it personally and it works fantastic, and even comes with it's own scope rings. Review on amazon say it holds up to use on real steel rifles, so I wouldn't worry about it losing zero on a tippmann.
It's this one good sir! https://www.amazon.com/Sports-2-7X32-Relief-Scope-Rings/dp/B003BRB1PM
I have the UTG tri-rail mount and an Aim illuminated scope on mine. Scope and Mount. The scope has held zero through a spam can, and the mount seems rock solid haven't had any issues, nor do i have to tighten my mount screws after every range trip. Nor have i had to screw around with loc-tite. Simple drop in installation, solid mounting system from an Engineering POV. 100% reversible. dunno how far it'll go out but mine (1939 Tula ex-sniper all #'s matching) will shoot an just over an inch at 100 with out too much effort and surplus rounds. My $0.02
I ordered this one, it has good reviews, so I hope it'll be good!
I use this mount, works fine so far.
And this scope
Hardest part of mounting/zeroing was getting the stock rear sight off.
