I store my earrings and some small/dainty necklaces in this jewelry box. The rest of my necklaces and the few bracelets I have are in a tray similar to this. I mostly have earrings, and only a few necklaces/bracelets, so the box works well for me.

My fiance made me wood ledges with hooks (similar to these). I use them for my longer necklaces and bracelets- everything is easy to see and no tangled jewelry. I keep earrings in an organizer box and everything else in a pretty wood jewelry box.
