>Oh wait you can ask for recommendations there granted you're looking for a $1000 pair.

Which is insane to me.

Here's the deal: I'm a bit of an audiophile. I've been a musician for 15+ years, and I am obsessed with sound. I will spend hours researching which preamp tube to put in the V5 position of my backup amp that I use once a year, because it produces a sound that's so slightly different that you'd have to use a frequency analyzer to detect the difference.

I produce music as well (home studio, granted), so I spend hours listening to the same tracks on every piece of equipment I own, tweaking and refining the most miniscule, pointless details.

I say this stuff in hopes that it will give me some credibility when I say this: unless you're doing music production or mastering, a pair of $30 headphones are more than enough for anybody.

I recently bought these, and I honestly can't tell the difference between them and my $280 Sennheisers, aside from a little extra bass and a little less treble in the cheaper pair.

They're fine. Spending $1000 on a pair of heaadphones is like throwing $900 into your garbage disposal.

I personally use [these] (https://www.amazon.com/OneOdio-Adapter-Free-Headphones-Professional-Telescopic/dp/B01N6ZJH96) headphones. They can let you hear two audio sources at once, so both phone and switch audio, or PC/laptop and switch audio combined. I don't use discord while playing on my switch but if I did, these would be pretty handy I imagine. I only bought these because my other pair of cans were wearing out but they're pretty good sounding too.

u/The-Working-Man · 2 pointsr/rocksmith

Looks like you already got some, but worth mentioning to anyone else who is looking....

This pair is around $30US and the cool thing about them is that they have 2 separate inputs. So, for RS you could plug one cord into your PC and the other set into your amp/FX rig if you like to play with a separate amp.

I'll try to answer your questions in one post [Referrals]:

>would you say that I need headphones to monitor what my sound is even though I can't wear them while actually i'm actually making videos?

Yes - you can do a sound check with your headphones on before you get in front of the camera. You can miss a lot of problems by just looking at meters.

> I found these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N6ZJH96

OneOdio makes very popular headphones, but you can do better for about the same price. I recommend a $39.99 set of Senal SMH-500 headphones instead. They are more sensitive than the OneOdios (101 dB versus 110 dB) and Senal products have a 3 year warranty (versus 2 years for the OneOdio brand).

I have Senal SMH-500 and SMH-1000 headphones and they are a great value for the money.

> since the hn5 has a headphone jack I should need anything extra, right?

That is correct.

> the azden comes with everything that I need to hook it up to my recorder?

Correct again.

Again, hope this is helpful!

u/MeddyEvalNight · 2 pointsr/OculusQuest

Absolutely!

There's a convenience trade off. Head phones make  the setup a little more cumbersome. But the difference in audio experience is huge.

Cost is not too much of an issue. You can get high quality over the ears head phones for about $30.

I bought OneOdio studio head phones this week and I am super impressed ( Tested them on the Oculus Go)

u/[deleted] · 2 pointsr/piano

these look pretty good, just from a quick search (if you're looking for over-ear headphones). they have a 9.8ft cord apparently.

u/MrOtsKrad · 2 pointsr/oculus

best bang for buck, without a lot of overhead

Throw in one of these and youre good

Personally these are what I use, but I had them prior to getting the rift, it jsut worked out nice. They fit over the rift PERFECTLY

I found these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N6ZJH96/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A2YNUEXBGH2YRR&psc=1 and it is asking me if I want to by some adaptor cords, but since the hn5 has a headphone jack I should need anything extra, right? and the azden comes with everything that I need to hook it up to my recorder? I just wanna make sure I am not missing anything. Thank you so much for your help, couldn't have done it without it !

If you're on a REALLY tight budget, I've heard really good things about these.

i ended up ordering these but i'm very susceptible to suggestion. do you think AKG 240s will be good enough to be worth another $40?

I just recently purchased a new board and decided to buy a pair of throw-away headphones, these were $30 when I bought it, and they’re worth every penny. Comes with great sound quality, and two input slots, one 3.5mm, and one quarter inch. They also fold and collapse easily.

Would These be any good ? reviews ?

u/gadget_dude · 1 pointr/PSVR

You might want to look at something like these - over the ear headphones with dual input: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N6ZJH96/ref=emc_b_5_i?th=1

I've been considering trying them instead of the on-ear headphones I'm currently using with my PSVR but remembered that with these both sound input sources will play simultaneously. I don't really need that but it will do exactly what you are looking for.

u/underspring3000 · 1 pointr/gadgets

Any opinion on these headphones?

u/captf · 1 pointr/Beatmatch

Depends how serious you are about it, and where you plan to DJ.

The main thing you're looking for is a way to hear the cued track(s). And, if you're not doing this in any serious capacity, any cheap set of headphones will do.
Depending on the mixer/controller, you may need a 3.5mm to 1/4" adapter, but most these days cater for the 3.5mm jacks.

Sennheiser HD25s are among the most recommended headsets, but those aren't cheap. And, while I use those now, I started with these, and they worked just fine.

What headphones do you guys recommend ? Im looking at these
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N6ZJH96/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_B2ShDbYYNSVV5

I wanted some opinions from the sub first . Will this improve mix ?

u/lman777 · 1 pointr/makinghiphop

Thanks for the insightful responses... much appreciated to someone like me who is still learning a lot right now (although we never really stop learning)

As for the headphones, I picked these up: https://www.amazon.com/OneOdio-Adapter-free-Headphones-Professional-Telescopic/dp/B01N6ZJH96/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1512002855&sr=8-3&keywords=oneodio+headphones

They had really good reviews (although they are now lower than when I bought them) and so far I'm happy with them, but they are a lot less comfortable than they look, which I am pretty sure is due to me having a really big head. I've had them for a couple weeks though and they've started to break in and feel more comfortable on my head/ears now. Sound is pretty balanced, for a 30 dollar pair of headphones. With that said, I don't have a lot to compare it to other than some other consumer class stuff in my house/car which I know is all really unbalanced. In the next month or so I might pick up a pair of Mackie cr5bt monitors so I have something other than headphones to mix on, but we'll see. If you have any recommendations I'm open.

I may be too late but I'm really enjoying the Oneodio Adapter Free DJ's.

https://www.amazon.com/OneOdio-Adapter-Free-Headphones-Professional-Telescopic/dp/B01N6ZJH96?th=1&psc=1

Plenty of bass and enough mids/highs. They're comfy and light. As a gaming or portable headphone, you could do much worse. Great budget option.

I’m doing the same thing! So yeah, here’s what I’ve found and what I’ve done.

  • Plugging into the switch eliminates game sound on stream.

  • Plugging into the computer delays the audio, which is annoying.

  • Plugging into the capture card (I have a different capture card, not the Elgato, and mine has a game audio input (for game chat capture) and a mic/headphone 4-ring input/output (for mic capture to both the capture card and back to the game). I don’t have any games that need voice chat, and using this option de-syncs my facecam from my audio.

  • Plugging my headphones into the capture card but my mic into the computer. This could work with the right setup. Mine isn’t working because a 3-ring headphone plug into the capture card causes a terrible clicking noise, and my headphones don’t have a built in volume control so I need a volume control adapter (which converts a 4-ring cable to 3-ring, unfortunately). This setup also needs a separate mic from headphones, so you aren’t causing static with double grounding.

  • Headphones into TV/monitor, mic into laptop. This is what I do. Again, it requires headphones and mic that aren’t connected, but it works for me really well. I don’t notice any lag in audio, my face cam and audio are synced up, and the computer still gets game audio.

If you’re using a pair of gaming headphones with a built in mic, I’d recommend switching to some decent cans without a mic instead, and getting a separate mini boom mic or a full mic. The mini boom mic I linked is the one I have. I have these headphones which has lasted me about a year so far (though that does include some superglue). Any small inline volume control will work.

    Good luck!
