You could also use a more 'basic' fiber source; something like this. It's a little more expensive, but a much smaller grain that could help with consistency. You'll probably only need about 5g to 10g to help with satiation from your base recipe.

I am having very good success with Nexabiotic
and
Fitness fiber to feed them

I have been trying to loose weight for a year and after a year all I have to show for it is 12lb of muscle gain and 22 lb of weight loss, which would be great if I wasn't starting at 327lb. I have shed 10 lb in three weeks since I started taking those to. Now Probiotics wont make you loose weight. I have been battling constipation all year. So for me I am trying to correct an imbalance.

> my goal is not to gain excessive muscle mass

Don't worry, it doesn't happen by accident

Here are some tips from a random googled website.

> Avoid Sugar Alcohol's, most ending in -tol

> Add Fiber

> Avoid making it frothy by blending

> Slow down drinking it.

My suggestion is use whatever you like in taste and whatever you can afford, and add some fiber to it. You can probably find a fiber source from anywhere, but I add a teaspoon of fiber (5grams) for each 30 grams of protein. Other fiber in your diet should improve it as well.

Were you using psyllium husks or psyllium husk powder?

There's flaxseed meal, or things like:
