I don't know what your definition of "cheap" is but I ended up going this direction - http://amzn.com/B00W77C1QU - it's a brand I've used in the past and the reviews (with speed tests) looked promising. $25 for a (reliable brand) 64gb U3 card was tough to beat in my shopping around.

I told you wrong. Its the Turbo. This thing reads at 90Mb/S and write around 50-60Mb/s. Pretty great for the price.

I use this one found on Amazon - Seems to work pretty well.

PNY doesnt make their own cards

This review is the best and most exhaustive info ive found

Edit: okay i made a mess of this...just read the amazon review

My microSD corrupted somehow yesterday, so I ended up ordering this one. I think it might be the same one that you mentioned.

Running without a screen protector right now and waiting for Zagg's tempered glass. DO NOT order xtremeguard protectors. I ordered a few when they were having their 90% off sale, and the cut is horrible.

Go for a UH 3 class 10 card to get the best performance.

This seems to be what everyone is recommending

Actually I am back to that I am going to try Lollipop with foldermount to compare results.. just realized the performance hit from using adoptable storage is huge! The 64 GB card I am using when set to adoptable storage increases the boot time of the K1, by at least 30 seconds (did not time it) I bench marked the 64 GB card when adoptable 3 times, and it averaged 40 MB/s read 15 MB/s write, and then formatted back to portable and rebooted. Quick boot time again and benchmarks at (3 times again I ran it) at 80 MB/s read and 65 MB/s

I was using this micro sd card: http://amzn.com/B00W77C1QU

This card is amazingly fast on both read + write on anything else I try it on also..

I use this and the phone feels sluggish, would a higher read and write speed card do any better?

Are they class 10 UHS-1 U1? I had the same problem with a 64GB card and had to go to a faster U3 rated card. Here is the card I ended up buying, which works great in my P3S.

That sounds like a lot of money. I'm using this on a few Android devices (including the Nvidia Shield TV).

I have the PNY U3 Turbo Performance 64GB (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00W77C1QU/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_VDFzwbZ4KPW6A). It works great and also records 4k without issues. Another one to look at would be the Samsung Pro which is better in my opinion.

Whatever you do, don't get this card: http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-microSDXC-Standard-Packaging-SDSQUNC-064G-GN6MA/dp/B010Q588D4/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1451946352&sr=1-1&keywords=sandisk+microsd

It would get stuck at 30% whenever I would try to format it on my phone. Apparently it's a common issue that other people are having and it seems to be with SanDisk cards.

I ended up returning it and getting this card instead, no issues so far: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00W77C1QU?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00

Stick to Amazon, and check best buy since they price match amazon if you want instant satisfaction on your purchases.

I recommended the yellow bobber for any water excursions you take, and a nice selfie stick (lots of great brands). I use the selfiie stick for snowboarding mostly.

This is a great SD Card

Most of the official GoPro stuff is going to be better quality than the random rip-off 3rd party brands. You do get what you pay for.

I Personally just ordered this one from PNY 64gb for the right price, and boasts 90mb/s speeds. I chose PNY because it seems sd card counterfeiters are targeting sandisk/samsung the most. I just dont want to deal with the hassle of a fake sd card.

u/CryptoAnthony · 1 pointr/djiphantom

I have a few of these PNY MicroSD cards They're cheaper than the SanDisk Extreme and my speed tests on them get 92Mb/s read and 62Mb/s write. Which is just enough for the Phantom's bitrate.

Any card is probably fast enough, it just depends on how long are you willing to wait :D But seriously, something like this SDCARD is probably one of the best cards you could have (that was just a quick search, I am not saying that that one card is the chosen one). But of course, there are a lot of sdcards you can buy. Just search for "UHS U3" microsd.

u/manojk92 · -1 pointsr/raspberry_pi

Get a U3 card like this. Sure you may not need the speed but it will future proof the card for future use if you plan on recording in 4k or higher.
